LOST
DE DeMarcus Ware - $17 mill against the cap
DT Jason Hatcher - $28 mill at 32 yrs old

ADDED
DE Jeremy Mincey
---------+
DT Terrell McClain = ~$2mill against the cap rotational player only
QB Brandon Weeden - ~$2mill against the cap replacement for the retiring Orton

Can't forget those elements either.

One of the worst signings ever. Cleveland was bad because of Weeden. I would take Tebow all day over this jackass and I cant stand Tebow. Weeden doesn't even belong in Arena football league. Complete garbage.

Weeden is the third quarterback and counts less than $100,000 against the cap. To me, he's just an insurance policy in case Kyle Orton retires and a spare arm for OTA's. Having Weeden around is no worse than having a Stephen McGee on the roster. This isn't a bad signing.

LOL I'm literally cracking up over here reading this thread.

The SAME people who praise Jason Garrett nonstop for "churn baby churn" are now telling us it doesn't matter....it's just a backup QB....wow.

Just curious, can somebody give me a list of all the positions on the team that don't matter?

When Orton is gone and we do not draft a QB, we can revisit.

Until then I have bigger things to worry about.

I agree or he wants a trade.

Trade for what? No team is going to pay he what he's due for a backup. And I doubt anyone really thinks he's a starter. Even as a placeholder for a rookie draft pick.

This team has shown that they simply do not value the 3rd QB position through their recent history and actions. When they cut Orton this clown is going to be the #2 and when Romo eventually goes down and this clown continues to disgrace his profession, the same group of usual suspects will tell us how no one could have ever seen this coming.

Probably right. I really don't get the weeden move unless Orton is gone.

He paid him literally nothing.

Did you miss the part that said they thought he could start? That's the scary look into the depths of the crazy Al Davis v2 eyes. Camp body is one thing....

Last year it was the DL. Year before it was the Ol. Then it was CB....on and on. Reactive only.

Who is backing up Wilson (Tavaris Jackson)? Who is backing up Peyton(Brock Osweiler)? Who is backing up Kaep(Colt McCoy)? Who is backing up Brady?

Put this into perspective, we get rid of players like Demarcus ware and Jason hatcher and sign players that the CLEVELAND BROWNS released ....

2 aging players at 32 years of age @17 mil per vs 1 young 1st round draft choice (2012) for about 600 thousand per. The Browns still owe Brandon 2.1 mil which is more than the 2 yr deal jerry gave him.

This is the second person that has thought they were making a point where high draft choices like Osweiler and Mallett are the backups

Actually Mallet isn't his backup and if I am not mistaken, Weeden was a higher draft choice than both of those guys. Just saying...
