PFT: Cowboys could pounce on Manziel

The only way I hope the Cowboys would do this is if they trade up to say 8 to get him, a team that wants him a spot lower at 9 is willing to trade up for the 8 and a second and third rounder this year and their first rounder next year to get him ( so the Cowboys could recup what they would give up to get the 8, if they could even do this). Otherwise, NOPE.

If he gets to #5 I'll be SHOCKED.

Houston - Needs him
St. Louis - Needs him
Jags - Needs him
Cleveland - Needs him
Raiders - Needs him
Atlanta - nope
Tampa - Needs him
Vikings - Needs him

Yeah, I can see him going at 3 at the lowest.

If the Cowboys got him, what good would it do? We could have Payton Manning next year but if the defense cannot make the other team punt, or the defense can't let a team get 40 first downs, what the hell is Manziel going to do?

I get what you're saying and I'm not exactly an advocate for drafting Manziel (I think he's the NFL's version of Justin Bieber), but there is more than a first round in every draft. In fact there are 6 more rounds if I can recall correctly.
You can draft Offense in the 1st and continue to make it a defensive draft if that's the case.

Isn't the consensus that he ends up a Texan? Would be funny if he ended up a Raider though... Lol

I really hope not he has bust written all over him. A better skilled Tebow.

That is true that there are more than one round, but what would it cost to move up to get him if he is not there at 16. The Cowboys need top draft prospects, not camp scrubs in the later rounds.

The teams that are ahead of us in the draft are ahead of us because they need a QB. He's likely not going to be there.

That said, this is a sad traffic generator. Of course Jerry Jones would take Manziel if he's at 16. Are you kidding? That's not even news.

At this point no GM or coach is saying what they are really thinking. All smoke and mirrors. The "experts" on TV/internet are looking for click bait and TV show content, but we know they know SQUAT! The Texans are on complete lockdown when it comes to real info.

If he falls to 16 the Cowboys need to take him. But, to go get him just for the sake of publicity is not right.

Wasting our 1st on one of the few positions we're set at and doesn't need a complete overhaul. Sadly, I wouldn't be shocked at all.
