^ I'm thinking about sustainability.

Anyone familiar with how the Dust Bowl happened? Farming land without rest until it could not produce.

That's the picture WV Cowboy is painting it seems....milking profit this season without regard to fan burnout, image, growing a new generation of fans by weeding out cheap seats to the suites, games going to pay-per-view. Domestically they can't milk the cow much more so now they are hoping to breaking into London and the rest of Europe.

Fans may just get burned out.

I'd guess the smart farmers sold early and moved to another state. Started over. But then I'm biased: literally or figuratively that's what I'd do every time.

Then that's me: I don't do the death, poverty and slavery thing...willingly.

Where are you going? Lost you.

What I'm saying is the NFL is trying to make as much money as possible right now at the risk of burning out fans and see a drastic drop in revenues at some point in the future. Not just the Cowboys - the entire NFL.

Do explain.

I say:
1. Morality and football fandom (who you root for) have absolutely NOTHING to do with each other.
2. It's about rooting for someone you enjoy, admire, respect.
3. Jerry has no loyalty to you...why contrive some false loyalty to him?

I'm so glad to be free. I invite any and all of you to find another team.

I believe we even have an OBLIGATION...to evaluate the religion, politics and sports loyalties we grew up with. And if anything we have a moral obligation to leave a team that repeatedly demonstrates it has no moral compass...and repeatedly does a lot of gross stuff.

We all have different views. I respect that. But I say, if anything...YOU MUST LEAVE THIS TEAM.

The problem is Jerry is not doing any of this on purpose. He wants to win. He thinks this is the best way. He just doesn't know any better and/or doesn't wasn't to see what is.

Fandom is not dissimilar to marriage. People meet someone, think they know them, but don't. Worse, they do not fully think about what their own expectations are for the other person. Even so, they get married anyway. When things do not go as expected after getting hitched, the stuff that should have been considered before saying I do bubbles to the surface. The unconsidered expectations create disenchantment or even anger. Sometimes it gets so bad that people call it quits and divorce.

Perhaps if some people would just stop and think how bad things could possibly get, no matter how uncomfortable or unusual the circumstances might be, they might avoid getting married in the first place. Unfortunately, people do not care very much about what life might throw at them. They only understand how being with that someone special makes them feel so good at that moment. So, when things go south, people become bitter or cut bait. No wonder the divorce rate exceeds 50%.

Being a Cowboys fan in 2014 is no different from being a fan of any other sports team at any given time throughout team sports history. A Cowboys fan simply has different types of current issues to contend with. Narcissistic ownership. Coaching inadequacies. Roster shortcomings. Playoff futility. The list goes on. Some people never stopped to think about the what ifs before they happened in the real world. Heck, no one could have foreseen the coming of Jerry Jones before 1989. Then again, some people do not care about things not going their way against their will. They only know and care about what they want to happen.

I wonder how many members here are straddling the Cowboys fan fence? I say straddling because if certain members truly meant they were done with the franchise, they would not continue posting on a Cowboys fansite. Maybe it is sorta like the separation phase before the divorce decree is granted. lol.

Didn't you got to another team? Get lost.
