Claiborne Inspired Me

I disagree. I have read that he is a bust everywhere I look except for a few posters on this board. I saw a list a while back that had Mo listed as one of the biggest busts in the last several years for any teams.

Oh he is still considered a bust.

Lets see how his body holds up with another 20 lbs on it. You can't play CB in the NFL at 6'0" and 175 lbs. Dez will break him in practice like usual.

I really don't think that Claiborne is a mental loser...so, I'm fine with a three year, and injury laden development. Now's the time to take some gambles and claim on the carpet prowess.

So how do you feel about Sean Lee? A pro bowl talent who's unreliable and overpaid?

A lot differently than I do Claiborne.

You see, when Lee has played, he has produced. That counts for something.

When Claiborne has played, he has done very little.

Damaged the organization? o_O Now that's extreme. Joey Galloway, for all his fanfare and cost to get him could be considered damaging.

If Claiborne just cost a first round choice, I would feel a lot differently.

But, he did not. I guess you think the 2nd round choice we gave up for the privilege to draft him was not damaging? We could have used a Wagner or even Brockers the last few seasons. But that is okay, let's just hope he does well so he can skip off in free agency leaving nothing behind for the team's investment.

Go Mo!! We are all rooting for you!!

See I'm the complete opposite. I feel like we have money and resources in Lee. Not only that but he's our best defensive player. Claiborne has been hurt since entering the league and has never been healthy enough to actually develop.

If one second round pick is damaging to your organization than you don't really have a organization to begin with. There are contenders like the Seahawks who miss or trade first rounders more times than not and still contend.

No difference really. He noticeably produced a handful of games. Yet all that production did absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. Then he's rewarded a very nice contract to boot. Still nothing to show for. I love Sean Lee, but his time here has been more damaging than your criteria for Mo. Yes or no?

I've got pom poms for both Mo and Sean.

When Mo recovered a fumble against Denver(i think) a few years back,in the first qrt I think was, then ran 40 yards down field celebrating it. I figured he was extremely immature and something wasn't connecting. Like he thinks its a miracle to make a good play.......He isnt a mentally tough , sound football player.

I dont want guys who arent mentally tough, sound, football players on the team. Having said that, contracts are contracts, and he has one more year. If he has matured, maybe he can turn into a solid contributor for the team.

Mo is currently a bust. I'll be rooting for him to turn it around enough that we can resign him relatively cheap and then he turns it around even more after.

Wait, what? Is this one of those all draft picks are "rolls of the dice" things?

Of course it is damaging. That basically means a starter or borderline unless you do something very stupid with the choice.

No. Lee has won Dallas football games. The Indy game is one. And he is a catalyst on the practice field, in meetings and is a leader.

Claiborne has done absolutely nothing, unless you count catching what amounts to a punt INT against the Rams and otherwise being a player who seems to talk about what he's going to do but never does. I don't think he adds a thing to the culture or the lockerroom.

I cannot believe I have to actually defend Lee against Claiborne. It is laughable.

At this point with Jones and maybe even White they have guys for that 3rd and 4th spot if Claiborne tanks. Anything we get from him is a bonus. Its not like we really need him

All draft picks are a roll of the dice even if you want to ignore it. I'm not arguing that you shouldn't hit on them. I'm saying its a reach to assume that missing on a 2nd round pick is damaging to your franchise. This organization should know more than anyone with as many recent misses as we've had.

So you take two dice rolls and then decide to give up one of them for just one? And for a cornerback? In the top 10? After you just signed one to a crippling 100 million dollar contract?

If wrong, you couldn't damage a franchise more if you did it with intent.

He'd a Cowboy so I'm rooting for him to bounce back and have a great year.

I don't expect it but I'm certainly going to root for it to happen.

I thought you were gonna say he inspired you to get hurt and miss another summer of work.

I would of liked that, my bad.

I will leave now

Lee, in all of those game clinching games did what to the bottom line? Nothing. Zilch. Didn't matter because he was never around to expound on his heroics. Has Lee lived up to his 2nd contract?

Are you in the locker room to know whether or not Mo adds anything through his character? Not even JJT or Mickey could really tell you that. Again, let's just call a spade a spade.

I wouldn't do the move myself but I understand why they did it. They had the worst secondary in the league and added the best cornerback prospect in the draft and the best in free agency.

Was it a good move? No. Not at all. But did it cripple this franchise giving up a 2nd round pick to get Mo? I can't say that it did. Like someone said earlier the Joey Galloway trade is more of an example of something that can set your team back.
