Jonas Gray cut

He rushed for 200 yards in a game. I read he over slept the next practice and was then back to the bench. Anyone familiar with this kid?

I did not see this coming. If healthy we better have him on the first flight to Dallas

What is the injury?

undisclosed...

Patriots waived RB Jonas Gray.

It's possible Gray is being waived/injured, as he missed the preseason finale with an undisclosed injury. Either way, it brings (a little) clarity to the Pats' jumbled backfield. Brandon Bolden and James White will mind the store during LeGarrette Blount's one-game suspension, while Blount will be the No. 1 upon his Week 2 return. Gray had a nice preseason, rolling up 107 yards on 19 carries (5.6 YPC), and averaged 4.6 yards on 89 totes a year ago. It's quite possible he'll be claimed on waivers.

I would take him over useless Dunbar in a heartbeat, he is the thumper we need.

Interesting....why was he cut? He was beaten out by Brandon Bolden (who) and James White (who)...
So many backs anymore...it's nothing like the old days where you could keep track of everyone's backs.

James White is pretty good and has upside, and Bolden has flashed at times.

Gray got in Belichick's doghouse last year after his huge game and never fully recovered.

In addition to Blount, the also have Tavaris Cadet...who's kind of the Shane Vareen replacement.

But you're right....there are a ton of RBs out there. It's the easiest position to backfill.

It almost feels like a team could cut every back on their roster and pick all new backs from the cut list and have a 50/50 chance of improvement...

What's with all of the 5'10" 215-220 lb backs that are getting cut or available for a bag of footballs.

Had knee trouble in college, if I remember correctly. Was pretty good his last year at ND. He seemed to finally break through in NE but then missed a meeting and never got out of Belicheck's doghouse.

The Cowboys should be all over this guy. I mean all over him. Assuming, of course, he doesn't have a massive injury we don't know about.

In other words, if I had to choose between Gray and Dunbar to start a game for us............. I wouldn't even think twice about putting Gray in there.

How much better about this team would you feel if they exchanged Weeden and Dunbar for Cassel and Gray? I know I would be pumped!

I agree it more of a doghouse issue with Belichick from what the fan site in Boston are saying. I think West or Raheem Mostert would be more beneficial. He was late for some meetings also.

Cut Whitehead and Dunbar; pick up Mostert and Gray and I'd call it a win.

cowboys have no interest, figures.why would they be interested in a guy who ran for 200 yards on his only start.

Who do they think is going to get cut that is better?
