What books have you been reading?

Reading an old Robert Ludlum book, titled The Parsifal Mosaic. Good yarn if you like spy novels.
 
I'm about to pickup I'm Right and you're an Idiot. Catchy title, but it's supposed to be a really good book on the breakdown of public discourse. I'm really interested to see the role social media has in the demise.

I'm in talks with a professor I am close with to work on a paper/book about the role social media has played in the consolidation of big brands. At this point there are about 15-20 company's that run probably about 80-90% of all consumer products. It is more concerning that the wealth concentration in the 1% as the Occupy movement was protesting a few years ago. I fear that the entire corporate world is going to continue consolidating to the point where we have almost no privacy.
 
About to finish The Parsifal Mosaic.

Next up is Fractured, by DJ Molles. This is book #4 of his The Remaining series.

This is basically about people trying to survive after a plague has wiped out most of humanity.

If you like The Walking Dead, you'll like this 6 book series.
 
I started reading a song of ice and fire since I'm such a fan boy of the show.

I've read the first book but I'm a little burned out on GOT right now so invent read book 2 yet.

It's good. Written in 1982, it's kind of dated by now. If you've read one of his books, they're pretty similar. A group tries to take over America, and only 1 man can stop them.

lol nah Im actually readin the Confederate version of a leatherbound (well, imitation anyway) twin set of books on the civil war, one is Confederate gray and the other Union blue....titles are "Diaries, Memoirs and Letters of the Civil War".....picked em up at a Books-A-Million...dang good stuff if youre a civil war/history buff....

"Last Rampage" the story of the Gary Tison escape (with his families help) from an Arizona prison in 1978.

I remembered that it was big news at the time because they (the prison escapees) started killing folks along way.

It's a horrific story... Also kind of sad too in that Tison was such a selfish bastid who took advantage of the love of his sons to not just break him out of prison but tie them to the stomach-churning crimes he would commit after the breakout.

Just finished Walden by Thoreau. I was a little disappointed in it. I like classics and love outdoor literature, but it didn't do much for me. I thought it was more of a survival story about a man's time alone in the woods, but not so much. I'm about half way through Into Africa about the adventures and discoveries of David Livingston and Henry Stanley now and it's been fantastic so far. Searching for the true source of the Nile back in the mid 1800's is something I can't even fathom.
