My thoughts 8-1

About Tony Romo:

Knowing the competitor he is, I know for a fact he really wishes he was out there. But he's smart enough to realize what's best for the team, and I believe he will accept being the backup. The Cowboys can open the QB competition in 2017 camp.
Romo will not be a Cowboy in 2017. And Dallas surely wouldnt take Dak out if they arent going to now.

Its clear that with every win this team has gone from the front office saying this is still Romos team, to this week it basically being just a fan dilemma. The team is in a good place in good hands, and this organization while it took them a little while to come to terms are actually seeing it now. You can even see it in Tony on the sidelines. Where before he was in the middle of things and up on the sidelines to now spending most of the time on the bench looking at plays. I think he's come to terms with the situation in Dallas. This an exciting time being a cowboys fan, we are seeing the new era starting from scratch.

Dak went up against another DEF who brings it from different formations and different packages and struggled early. But as he settled in and recognized what the Stealers were doing the field opened up and he was able to find his lanes. Smart QB doing what rookies arent supposed to be able to do.

Ezekiel Elliot IMO is the MVP of this league. Guy is unstoppable the way Peterson has been unstoppable. Of course they both had great OLs to run behind but it still takes a special back to do the stuff they do, or Alfred Morris would be doing what Elliot is doing, but he's not close. Nice backup but not even close to Zeke.

This OL wore down this def exactly how they wore down the eagles. Just keep mauling them and they will crack.

This Def almost gave it away, but in part because of a big injury. they lost Claiborne but Have Scandrick and Brown so it was ok. But losing Scandrick was huge. Pitt OL handled the DL today but they played scrappy that they held Bell in check for most of the game.

JJ Wilcox is starting to show imporvement by the week, and he's turning into a enforcer for this secondary. WRs and RBs are keeping him in mind when they are going over the middle against this def.

Dez has come back to life, all he needed was some time with Dak to get on the same page.

This is going to be tough game coming this week vs Ravens.

JJ does seem to be improving.
He gave up the TD but was close, and the hits were nice.

Yep...Ravens will be the real test, though. :)
I dont believe in all that real test garbage. This team has done enough. But i just think Ravens will be a touch matchup. Theyre one of the few smashmouth teams like the cowboys left in football. No gimmicks just straight up football. Gonna like that game.

Anybody wanna bet Dak and Zeke dont drop in the jersey sales ranks this week.

I guess my sarcasm is totally undetectable. Seems like every game we've played has been "the real test", hence my not so obvious sarcastic post.

Our OL is good but when you watch endzone angles you see him making plays that most RBs don't make.. He gets yards when nothing is there.
Yeah, I get sick of people saying, "oh, it's the offensive line." let's trade RB's right now, and Zeke will still produce behind your offensive line better than your RB....is how I feelz

EVERY week someone posts as a joke in here that the next team we play will be the real test, and EVERY week it still flies over people's heads.

Great thoughts Latin. Salud!

Do not take the Ravens lightly. They are well coached, have SB experience from their QB, have a very good D, and a very good K.

It was actually good to play Pitt this week, as it will help when getting ready for the Ravens. We must make sure to keep Steve Smith in check.

As for today's game. We made a ton of mistakes, some at crucial moments of the game. We had too many penalties, and yes, some of them were bogus, but many others were not. Still, even with all the mistakes, we did something in years past, that we didn't do. We hung tough, we stayed together, fought, scrapped, scraped, made plays, and found a way to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. The moxie and poise of this team is an outstanding thing to witness.

Bailey is no longer the team MVP. He is still high on the list, as the best kicker in the league should be, but he has been surpassed by Zeke and Dak.

I love the fight of our defense. We don't get a lot of pressure, but they are scrappy and work hard. IMO, if we have Mo, Church, and OScan doesn't get hurt, the Steelers get blown out. One aspect of the D that seems to have improved mightily over years past is the tackling. Not only the one on one tackling, but also the gang tackling. Also, Wilcox, who I have been openly critical of, has shown to have improved his technique and awareness, while also continuing to lay some serious wood on opposing players.

This OL is just disgustingly sick. If you are opposing front 7, our OL is pure evil. They beat on you, lean on you, push you around, throw you around, pancake you time and again........It is a beautiful thing to watch. I love how Dak stays upright most of the game. I love how Zeke is getting 7 yds a pop on 1st down runs. It is so good, that we can actually run productive screen passes now, something that has been pretty much a myth most of my adult life.

Garrett is doing a fine job of coaching this year. He no longer seems like JJ's puppet, but his own man. Marinelli is working wonders with this defense. Linehan is frustrating me with some of his play calling, like when he gets cute with those bubble screens, those dumb fades to Dez, and passing too much, when he could use Zeke a bit more.

It feels good, great, and exciting to watch the Boys again.....I am loving this and enjoying every moment.

His horizontal hop at the end of runs. I swear it has given him 100 yards throughout the year.

Yup, I noticed that too! He'll be like an inch from going down and then he suddenly springs forward for an additional 3-4 yards.

He leaves absolutely zero meat on the bone, that's for sure. ;-)
