Dak Prescott: Tony Romo is a great model for me
Posted by Michael David Smith on November 16, 2016, 4:09 PM EST
A day after Tony Romo conceded that the Cowboys are now Dak Prescott’s team, Prescott praised Romo for providing veteran leadership that has helped him succeed.
“He’s been a great leader, a great model for me to look up to and watch every day,” Prescott said. “It was an emotional statement for him to say that, but I”m not surprised. I know how much he cares about this game, how much it means to him, how much he puts into it every day, how much this team means to him.”
Prescott said he doesn’t need the Cowboys to be viewed as his team, as he views the Cowboys as “our team.”
“This is everybody’s team. It’s not just about the quarterback position,” Prescott said.
Just as Romo handled the situation with class yesterday, Prescott handled it with class today. And starting tomorrow, there won’t be any quarterback controversy to talk about at all: Prescott is the starter and Romo is the backup, and that won’t change. Both quarterbacks know that.

You ARE dating a kid. Now grow up ands act your age!I still can't believe how mature he is for a 23 year old. I'm dating a 23 year old right now and I feel like I'm dating a kid.
WatYou ARE saying a kid. Now grow up ands act your age!
Young/Montana
Favre/Rodgers.
Both transitions were problematic at best. This one figures to go much more smoothly.
Correction. World's team. I've met many Canadians, an English couple, and a Scottish couple while tailgating.Correction. America's team.
Remember, there are many teams that botch this transition. Heck, some don't even have a real QB to train up and take over when a legend retires.
Remember Marino in Miami? The Dolphins were awful for years afterwards because they didn't really have anybody to replace him once he hung it up. Marino kept that team in contention almost by himself for many years.
He very well deserves to be in it.I call guaranteed Jerry puts Romo in the ROH. 10 yrs and Romo for the most part was the whole team.
Both class acts. As I was reminded in another post, Young/Montana did not go this well. We are lucky to have both of them.
