Dak Prescott: Tony Romo is a great model for me

A day after Tony Romo conceded that the Cowboys are now Dak Prescott’s team, Prescott praised Romo for providing veteran leadership that has helped him succeed.

“He’s been a great leader, a great model for me to look up to and watch every day,” Prescott said. “It was an emotional statement for him to say that, but I”m not surprised. I know how much he cares about this game, how much it means to him, how much he puts into it every day, how much this team means to him.”

Prescott said he doesn’t need the Cowboys to be viewed as his team, as he views the Cowboys as “our team.”

“This is everybody’s team. It’s not just about the quarterback position,” Prescott said.

Just as Romo handled the situation with class yesterday, Prescott handled it with class today. And starting tomorrow, there won’t be any quarterback controversy to talk about at all: Prescott is the starter and Romo is the backup, and that won’t change. Both quarterbacks know that.

He can learn a ton from Tony and Tony being unable to practice has probably helped him get more time with Tony
Both are class acts and I hope Tony and Dak can get a ring or two. Hopefully this year they can both get one from the cowboys and play each other in next years SB

Remember, there are many teams that botch this transition. Heck, some don't even have a real QB to train up and take over when a legend retires.

Remember Marino in Miami? The Dolphins were awful for years afterwards because they didn't really have anybody to replace him once he hung it up. Marino kept that team in contention almost by himself for many years.

Well thankfully they have Tannehill now, so that's all over.

since day 1, dak has been doing and saying all the right things. i wouldn't be surprised if we saw a worldstar or tmz video in the coming weeks of dak walking on water.

Both class acts. As I was reminded in another post, Young/Montana did not go this well. We are lucky to have both of them.

Yes Young and Montana was a catastrophe and the great Bill Walsh did not handle well at all. He even fueled the disdain between them.
