The Dak Controversy

If we bench Dak, Romo had better perform better and be able to take a hit. Can he do both of those things after what is basically a 2 year hiatus? We can't afford for Romo to struggle either. Ever thought about that?

I think it is pretty simple here, from my end anyways. This next game against Tampa is the perfect test for Dak. He has a chance to overcome some adversity. This game will not be on the road, it will not be in freezing temps.....it will be at the place that our playoff games will be held(if all goes right).

He will be facing a playoff caliber defense, all things add up to a preview of an actual playoff game. I guess it could be considered a must-win if they want HFA, but it is not in reality.

Dak can shut up a lot of people Sunday night, just go out there and get the win. Heck, even if we lose and Dak looks a lot better.......that should suffice for many. I will feel more at ease if he looks like a competent QB out there even in a loss.

If he lays another egg, has bad mechanics and looks completely over-whelmed again, this team has little choice but to explore the Romo option. Dak will not face a more ideal scenario than this game to get a glimpse into what the playoffs would look like. If Dak can't perform in this game, I surely expect an early exit if he stays at the helm.

Like I have said, Romo is probably our best option but I do not know that for a certainty. He has been out quite awhile but if Dak can not get through this game and looks like a rookie who has hit that wall.........I say roll the dice on Romo if it becomes obvious that Dak can't get the job done this season.

I want Tony to get in there, not going to lie. But, I would not mind Dak getting this train back on track and take over for good while Romo finds a new team this Summer. I prefer that actually, just not sure how realistic it is to think that Dak is ready for this post-season.

Prove me and the many doubters out here wrong Dak........take this team by the horns and never relinquish!
that is why they should start romo, lets see what he can do now against this type team.

It would be nice if Dak by now would have developed consistent long ball precision. I dont think he has. He did come out dinking and dunking and he has improved on that. But to compare Steve Young to Montanna is not comparing Dak to Romo. Steve Young was pretty good at that long throw thats essential for changing up the game. I notice some of Daks longer throws are wobbly. Dak is improving but at this stage, other teams are improving and making adjustments too. Daks needs to improve that much more to keep his streak going. He cant settle back with the status quo in the NFL when teams are gunning for you. You have to adapt, change, and survive. Natural selection does play apart in the NFL I'm starting to think.

no romo fans think he is right as rain and can just step in a play, no rust, 5 td's 0 ints and 500 yds passing !!
It is like we have the terminator benched, and john connor is starting, and people are saying no no put the terminator in !

So best thing to do is just put Terminator tony in against Tampa, and see if he terminates or gets terminated, lets find out now!!
If tony got the start and lost 17-10 what would his fans say then ??
if he wins 17-10 what does that say??

They want tony to contribute, so let him win the next 2 games for us.
otherwise he wont be ready for playoffs, and might as well roll with dak, good or bad.

We can't afford to have a rookie QB to start looking like a freakin' scrub backup Browns QB either.

Yet, a lot of you seem to be content with that.

It's a controversy only because we have an idiot owner/GM who has diarrhea at the mouth and loves to hear himself speak especially when covered by the local/national media. To me it's ridiculous that just a month ago, you dragged Romo out to basically publicly eulogize his carer as starting QB of the franchise, yet the owner/GM since that day hasn't stopped fantasizing to the media about getting Romo back on the field. Whatever...i guess it can be chalked up as Jerry being Jerry but it's embarrassing. I digress...

As far as what happens at QB...if the coaches deem a change is needed, I'm fine with it because they obviously are much more informed than me and any fan reading this. At the same time, i don't believe for a second that a starting QB hitting a rough 2 week patch after mostly a stellar 3 month run is on the verge of losing his job. Coaches don't operate like that. Now if this slide continues and Dak's performance is consistently poor over a month, the coaches will have a decision to make.

Oh heck give Romo his 15 minutes of fame

Literally.

No we're content with 11 and 2 from a rookie quarterback.

How many times did Romo rack up 11 wins in his entire career and the kids not done yet.

It's a controversy because Dak has performed poorly for multiple games in a row. The owner only said that if they made the change we would only know after they did the change ie on a Sunday.

He's had these issues with his mechanics for awhile now but has been able to keep drives alive with his feet. As a thrower he's been poor for some time now.

Romo went 12-3 in 2014, while recovering from an injury the entire year. He was 3-1 last year with an injury. Stop talking nonsense, are we EVER going to get a decent argument from the Prescott side?

Romo in 2007 won 12 out of 13 games, only losing to the Patriots. And that offense wasn't anywhere NEAR what we have now. Nowhere damn close to it.

No, you're content with Dak's noodle arm. You're content with him not even able to convert a third down. You're content when the running game shuts down, his accuracy goes to Tebow level.

"Rookie QB" or not, he looked terrible. Stop with the excuses.

It is what it is and we saw what it is. You cant be in denial that we are trending down and that Romo should get a try and see if we trend up.

My bad, I didn't realize this was a "lets train the new guy" year........I was under the impression we were trying to win a SB, something no rookie QB in the history of the NFL has ever done.

So everybody is cool with an early elimination for the playoffs, good to know.
Well we should be used to it by now.

Exactly. I don't want anymore excuses. If Tony comes in he better be like he used to be. He better be able to take a hit. I don't want to hear well Dak couldn't have done it either.

Manufactured for your clicking pleasure.

Plus, grass is always greener, as they say.

Is ridiculous....

I love Romo as much as the next man, but the page must be turned. There is no way we would be 11-2 if he was in. You mean to tell me Romo wouldn't have had a costly turn over at Pittsburgh? At Green Bay? At Minnesota? Come on now, we've watched that guy for 10 years win and lose us some big games..

I love Dak but just so you know he had 1 int and 2 fumbles agaisnt GB, a fumble against Pitt and 2 fumbles agaist Minnesota.

Another must win game this week, and probably the next. Dak is not the only player on the team that needs to ramp it up quite a bit.

Uhh...I haven't read any such hyperbole about Romo. Romo isn't going to go into a game not throwing a pass since August. He's been throwing the ball since he could and since his injury healed he's been running teams in practice for over four weeks now. He isn't getting out of a hospital bed and suiting up.

According to some Dak is responsible for 90% of it and Dez the other 10 I guess.
