Dak for a 1st and 2nd would be an insult to dak. That's a total insult to how hard it is to find a franchise QB. If Cleveland came asking about dak I wouldn't do anything less than their entire 2017 draft.

Dak is doing great, but he isn't a franchise QB, anymore than RGIII is/was a franchise QB.

Let him do it over a few years before we go there.

Out of pure curiosity I'm wondering what standard are you holding Dak too. I'm baffled that some do not think he is a franchise QB. Comparing Dak to RG3 isn't fair because RG3 never wasn't a pocket passer. He's a good athlete that can make a throw or two but he was mainly a guy who could run and create plays, kind of like Kap in SF, but once the league figured him out RG3 and Kap couldn't adjust to be a pocket passer. Dak is a pocket passer who can run if need be.

And with the idea that you can only play one season at a time how can you say so definitively that Dak is not a franchise QB? Did you consider Peyton Manning a franchise QB during his rookie year? He went 3-13. Troy Aikman was drafted to be a franchise QB and he was 1-15.

Is it Dak's draft status? Is it that he runs occasionally? What's the standard or what would Dak have to do before he is considered a franchise QB? Does he have to win for consecutive years? If that's the case then Peyton or Aikman would have been discarded after their rookie seasons. Is it because Zeke is there and there's a dominant offensive line. Again if this is the argument then Troy Aikman shouldn't be considered a franchise QB because he didn't put up good numbers in his first 1-3 seasons. He put up great numbers and victories when that offensive line was put together but then towards the end of his career that offensive line wasn't that good and his numbers and victories dropped. And Aikman had a dominant running back in Emmitt just like Dak has a dominant running back in Zeke.

I'm just curious what more could have Dak done or what are you looking for to put him in the franchise QB category.

Dak has had one season in the NFL. He has to do it again, a few times to be a franchise QB? He is the beneficiary of the best OLine and best RB in the game. You would have to be pretty mediocre not to have success with that kind of help.

Let's enjoy what we have and not go betting the farm on the come.

After the FAN base has beat everyone on this message board about God's gift to foot ball, the next coming of Roger the dodger, the end all of all QBs. You are going to be tared, feathered, and written out of town on a rail!!:omg::rolleyes:

If all another team has to give up is a 1st and 2nd to get Dak, they'll be laughing all the way to the bank... that 1st and 2nd would only be essentially a 2nd since you would have to use that 1st to draft another qb. Trading away a talent like Dak away for a 2nd rounder would be laughable.

You sir are a fool. Why would you trade a franchise qb? In order to draft the next Jared Goff? Dak is the real thing. He will break all the QB records of the Cowboys and win at least three Super Bowls. This year will be the first.

Not gonna happen, do you recall #17 Carter, #7 Henson, #7 Hutchinson, #2 Wright, #5 Stoerner, #16 Leaf?

It's the fact that he doesn't make all of the throws consistently, has poor mechanics in the pocket that haven't been developed since he left college, his mechanics really break down vs the blitz, he has the best offensive line in the NFL in quite a while as well as an outstanding running game, he had a stretch of games of not being able to throw to convert a 3rd down.

Does he do some great things too? Yup. He takes care of the ball, manages the game, can use his legs, and he's won. The last one isn't his to claim but talking heads will always point to it.

Now perhaps he will work his tail off this offseason and become a franchise QB who gets better every season...or maybe we will be looking for another QB in 2-3 years when the team's talent has eroded. He isn't a franchise QB yet but he could become one.

I wanna know which QB came into the league with no flaws. And why these QB's didn't play anywhere near as good as Prescott in their first seasons. As for best oline in the NFL in quite some time, perhaps in run blocking. But the team we just played had a better pass blocking oline, and I think the Raiders had a better one throughout the season too.
