I realize that Stephen Jones likes to build thru the draft (which team doesn't) but that's not being totally realistic. With Moore cut - all three of Dallas FA signings are no longer on team. That won't cut-it in this era. The Giants leaned heavily on FA signing in '16 and Eagles made big upgrades with their '17 FA signings. If Dallas wants to stay competitive they need to make big improvements in their talent evaluations of FA and not be so gun shy from past failures.

1 top talent instead of 3 or 4 low-mid tier guys would be better.

They are free agents for a reason. You win some, you lose some.

Trying to throw smaller, prove-it contracts out to JAGs is their philosophy these days.

I'd much rather sign a proven guy, for more money.

I understand being fiscally responsible given the cap restrictions, but their frugal nature is coming at the expense of winning.

Looking back it was bad, but at the time, I loved the Greg Hardy signing because they gave him a decent amount of money for that one year and he had a proven track record of production.

I'll take 2 mid-tiered guys like a Poe or Logan at the 1 tech and then a guy like Hyde who would have solidified the safety position.

This team is much better with those signings instead of the cheap methods they took this offseason.

And frankly, I don't think they will change. They are married to this slow and steady approach.

Most big names free agents don't work.

The dame people rueing not making big splash signings killed this team for Carr.

As it is we've been giving out a big contract on average every single year for a decade. Martin putting off his deal till next summer broke that streak. Spending is spending.

Also I suspect we're going to be a big player this offseason out if necessity.

I'd like to think so, but I won't hold my breath on your last sentence.

Last year was a perfect time to go in a bit in FA coming off a 13-3 season. They didn't do it. I suspect they'll rationalize this offseason the same way they did this past one.

Who would you have signed last offseason?
