Brother, you think Romo makes it alive through a full season?
Who knows? But the best QB would have been starting and we'd have a capable backup who is learning from the best instead of regressing to the point where he is clueless in the pocket and ruining Dez career.

The Romo might have been hurt again argument is a straw man. It makes no sense. Dak would go in at that point anyway.

Bologna

Last I recall, romo and dez were lighting the world on fire in 2014-2015 with Murray. 2015-2016 was some of the worst qb backup play ever, and then enter Dak. Last I checked, dez was doing well with his role at the last half of last year when Dak was able to get him the ball

Dez wasn't the same since his injury. Has nothing to do with QB. Dak has hit Dez in the hands with the ball and he drops it. What you want Dak to catch it for him to.

Seriously the hate Dak gets is crazy. He isn't the reason players regress. You can bologna all day but doesnt make it true

Crazy thing is we'll never truly know if the foot injury messed him up.
Had what, 1.5 games that year with Romo post injury and that was it.
Lit up the Dolphins, but, it's the Dolphins we are talking about.

Then 16+ he had a new QB.
Towards the end of the 16 season + post season he came alive again.
But has been dormant all of this year

First of all, there’s no Dak hate here, but that doesn’t mean he can’t improve. One of the areas he does need to improve is his chemistry with dez because it’s starting to affect the offensive scheme and defenses are doubling Beasley because Dak and dez can’t connect. Sure dez has dropped a few balls but there have been god awful throws too. It’s on both of them, but I don’t buy into the theory that suddenly dez is a garbage wr and has forgotten how to play the position

More proof of Romo's greatness, Dez is easily the worst WR on that list. Still glad he's gone, but Romo was a magician.

What do y'all think Romo's perception and legacy will be in 20 years?

Will he be another Danny White or will he be viewed in the same echelon as Aikman and Staubach despite not winning us a SB?

I think higher than Danny. I think Jerry puts him in the ROH at some point, maybe with Witten

Romo may also have doubts about his health that he hasn’t made public.

He obviously has zero ill feelings towards the organization considering he named his son after Jerry and he decided to retire.

Sure he’s getting paid a good amount of money to be analyst now but Romo was released and chose to retire rather than sign with another team.

Going back to 2014, I remember he hurt his back again later in the year(missed the AZ game) and then he got injured in 3 out of his last 4 games. The health wasn’t there and his cap hit was too much when you have what appeared to be a capable QB making less than 5 percent what Romo was making.
