It depends on how their careers end, but right now Watt has easily had the better career. And if both of them never played another down, Watt really does have a shot to get in to the Hall of Fame just based on his first 5 seasons, they were that amazing. Smith would have to buy a ticket.

Tyron and its not even close. JJ Watt while talented, does nothing for Houston. I hate hearing how valuable he is. When he's absent, you don't notice it at all. They made the playoffs with ease without him. Tyron was the first piece that solidified this offense.

Unfortunately, both careers will be cut short by lingering injuries.

Well I think it’s safe to say that Smith has proven to be the better choice though it was close a few years ago.

Smith may be broken down but at least he has played at a high level for the majority of the last two seasons.

Last two seasons for Watt: 8 games played, 1.5 sacks,12 tackles.

JJ Watt has won 3 MVP's andis the most dominant player in football when healthy. Smith has missed quite a few games himself in the past two seasons. Not sure who I was pick, but just stating some facts.

not enough not long enough for a sure HOF spot. Smith unless he falls off the end of the planet will be a sure thing. If he can maintain his play for three more seasons he will be in. 10 Pro Bowls is enough to get in. That and several times he was either considered or in the arguement as the best LT in football. That is the other requirement for the HOF. You have to be in the conversation as the best at your position. Watt has disappeared in the last two years He only has 76 sacks career wise; only double digits for 4 years. Nowhere near enough. Those 3 DMVP awards are basically his only hope and it is questionable that it will be enough.

8 games in two seasons. 1.5 sacks, 12 tackles. Smith has missed 6 games, Watt has missed 24. It’s not really comparable. Smith has had some injuries but nowhere close to on the level of Watt...not has he been as unproductive either. I’m just stating facts as well. 2015 was a long time ago.

Watt is far from the most dominant player in football anymore. I’m not sure if you can say that anyways. He is great but despite his success which was monumental...the Texans still stunk because they didn’t have a QB.

Tyron and it’s not close.

Watt isn’t what he was. The juice is wearing off.

Tyron Smith I believe has had 3 years of back injury concerns this year and is not going to have surgery. If it crops up at all next year expect it to reduce his career by 5 or more years.

I figure if we are going to have debates over all pro players the cowboys selected in lieu of other all pro players. Why stop at Zeke and Ramsey?

Who should they have taken. Tyron smith or KK watt?

The smith pick was a good one.
