One thing to note, trading Foles before the league year starts won’t get them under the cap. The Eagles have to be under the cap before the start of the new league year and any trades won’t be consummated until after the new year starts.

So to get under the cap by next week, they have to cut and restructure guys.
If they have to cut Long I'd like to take another look at him.

It has historically gone up 10 million every year but if goes up less than that some of these teams will be in trouble.

It's easy to know what the CAP will go up to. The TV contracts are all done with the big three set till 2020.

no way the cut Long , but hey you can have Curry . Thorton worked well fo yas ;)
Sure, if y'all cut him and he's willing to play for peanuts, I think Stephen Jones can make it work. I hear he's pulling out all of his pennies and having dear old Dad search the sofa cushions for some extra change.

Ahhhh.... Not really.
Cowboys are in far better shape than the Eagles are in the next few years at this point.
Check Spotrac.

Cowboys are at $168 million this year. That includes the TAG for D Law and the auto extension for Martin.
Cowboys are at $121 million for 2019. And $55 million under. Plus add in $10 million extra on the CAP in 2019.

Eagles are at $192 million for this year - $15 million over. They can get under by doing some cuts and re-structures.
Eagles are at $196 million for 2019. And $19 over at this point. But that will adjust when cuts and re-structures are brought in. Then add in the additional $10 million CAP up next year.

A few restructures and cuts - no worries.

CAP goes up 10 million next year.
If DAL was in the same cap situation as PHI this place would burn to the ground

The difference is that the Eagles know that the cap is just a suggestion and things can be rearranged to bring in good players...... it is better to go for it then to trust the Process

They brought in Chip Kelly and blew things up and bought DMurray and BMaxwell and DJackson but they just as quickly broke it down and started over...... even after winning the SB they are being aggressive and not standing pat

Damn I hate the FEagles

I'm in agreement here. The Eagles are going for it for the next two years.
What their outcome is - still to be seen.
What their CAP situation ends up as does not look good three years down the road.

I would trade a bad cap for a Lombardi 7 days a week

Ended up restructuring Lane Johnson to free up $7.5M in cap space. Signed Haloti Ngata.

i just read an article regarding cap space for the Eagles. In the article, they said that the Eagles will be very tight against the cap for the next two years as this year they thought the cap was going to rise to 179 mil and not 177 mil. Next year they have 11 players who account for 124 mil of cap space where one of them accounts for $22 million in Feltcher Cox. Eventually the money will be due and some of the players will have to be cut and they are very thin at some positions. The article said it will be interesting to see what transpires in the next few years especially when Wentz's contract is due.

Unfortunatley i agree with this, by the way you forgot about re-signing Jaylon Smith should he explode this year (like most are predicting), he will also cost a fortune. Now on the other hand if Dak has another year in 2018 like 2017 i do not see the Cowboys ponying up huge dollars for him, so some of what you are saying may be not come to be
It appears that Jaylon's 1st year didn't count towards free agency because he was on NFI.

Can somebody explain this or confirm if I am right

I was looking at over the cap and Spotrac. And Philip is like 20 million over the cap. They are going to have to renegotiate with a lot of players. Even with the pending release of Vinny Curry

I think today is the day all team have to be under the cap. They are on the rule of 51 in the offseason.

Yes. But that is in 2020 on Wentz. After all the big money is given out.
it will be interesting where the Eagles are after 2019 and going into 2020.
