PJ Hall some sixth round scrub from Sam Houston State. God, we need a new DC and organizational view of the interior of the DL.

Firstly, that guy is someone I know from college. Secondly, he's actually a really good DT. The only reason he hasn't been heard of much is because he goes to a small school, but Sam Houston State actually has a really good football team. We're perennially in the FBS playoffs, and he was an integral part of our defense. So, he'd actually be a great move for us.

Thirdly, I had the pleasure of being classmates with him in at least 1 class, and I can tell you that he's a smart guy.

I don't want a 345 lb 1 Tech.

I want a 1 Tech that actually has some ******* talent, not the gaggle of bums and cast offs that Marinelli has always said he only needs at the 1 Tech. I mean you are talking about a guy that rode Nick Hayden for a few years, for chrissakes.

I was the champion of the Hayden hate group.

Price, Paea, Ash and Collins played pretty well last year and were fine holding the poa at the 1. He was not why Wilson and Smith were filling the wrong gaps. It's not like the DL was getting pushed around.

I really do think it is ideology and not actual outcomes that is driving this fandoms fascination with the 1T in the draft and FA.

blah, blah, blah, marinelli is old, blah, blah, blah, methuselah, blah, blah, blah

the team is almost held hostage by this guy...just change the locks, give Richard the keys and no one tell Rod...

Yeo. And they play like turd

The problems on defense were Irving having poor recognition on trap blocks, Smith and WIlson repeatedly filling the wrong holes, Carroll and Scandrick being weak and subpar in coverage, and Byron Jones angles and tackling. 1T was not a problem and once Jones's role was reduced S stopped being an issue. SAM rounded into form once Wilson pulled his head out of his butt too.

Drafting Vea likely makes the LB job marginally easier and we would get a pass rush marginally better than what Paea provided but I just don't see him being a gamechanger particularly while we teach him handwork and lean. He is not a natural bender with which worries me. He naturally pops right up out of his stance.

They didn't bring him in because they didn't think they would have a chance for him. Rams called them on draft day about the trade.
Could the same not be said now? They have brought guys in they didn't have a chance at before so don't really agree with that statement

I like'em.
I did a Cowboys mock for a friend of mine and had him coming to us in the 6th.
I'd love it.

You guys should have remembered that the Cowboys FO does not value the following positions highly.

SAM LB
DT 1Tech
Safety

The will not devote big dollars or high draft picks to these positions in the Marinelli defense.
These are easy gets in the draft from round 4 thru UDFA.
I for one am happy this is the case. Doesn't mean I wouldn't mind seeing a big pig NT drafted round 3 or later but I have 0 desire to spend a round 1 pick on any of those 3 positions. If Rod let his safties play a little I wouldn't be opposed to taking one in the first but he continues to play them 30 yards off the ball and not get involved so....

This is no shock, they are not drafting a 1 technique in the first round, I tried to tell folks that.

Great is over used. FCS teams that are successful are great for fans and alumni of said FCS teams.

Sounds good lol.

Yeah, my bad, we're in FCS. Still, I think we'd find success with him. BTW, North Dakota State and Sam Houston State are two schools that are almost too good to be in FCS. NDS, for example, has a tendency of actually beating a lot of the FBS teams that they play. Sam Houston isn't far behind in terms of the sheer success of the football team. So, while I understand that small FCS schools are considered "scrubs", I think it'd be wise to consider the school, and their success. PJ Hall is a player who could and should be drafted by us. Not just because I know him, but because I think he can help our team just like he did Sam Houston State.
