Beasley, who is entering his seventh year with the Cowboys, was quick to point out Wednesday that Prescott didn't exactly fall off last season after his Rookie of the Year performance in 2016.

"He was still making plays all the time," Beasley said during an interview to help promote Old Spice's new Captain scent at a local Walmart store. "Last year, we asked him to be Superman and relied on him so much. When things broke down he was making plays scrambling. A lot comes with filling some spots maybe where we were weaker and stuff like that."

"They took away something that we had a lot of success with in 2016, with our naked game," Beasley said. "They stopped letting him get the edge. We worked and worked and thought we were going to be able to get it at some point just because we were getting so good at it, but they did a good job of taking that away.

"Now we just have to find something different to do on first and second down pass-wise to help him out a little bit."

Because the coaches played into the tendency of doing it all the time on first down.

BTW... I kinda expect Cole to be traded.

I think the WR's have had it with the coaches and the coaches will not get their way with getting rid of Dez but JErry will let them get rid of Beasley.

Both guys are said to be frustrated with the pass scheme.

Worked and worked and after it not working they continued to work because...Why try something new right? Lets just keep doing what's not working and it has to work eventually. If this isn't indicative of our inept our coaching staff is, I don't know what to tell you.

The coaches are idiots. I hope they don't have this same mindset now that zeke is back. They need to get creative with and without the major players.

What heats me up about the coaches is that I never hear any of them admit the flaws and admit that they shouldn't do that anymore or need to change what they are doing.

It's always going to be blamed on injuries or giving the other team hella credit for their game planning of stopping the same crap ran every single Sunday.

I'm really sick of that.

While it’s likely the same old same old with Garrett/Linehan, we do have a new QB coach, a new OL coach and a new WR coach. Maybe their input will help with the passing game?

This is really an indictment of the coaching staff. Garrett: "what? They're taking away Beasley in or out route? Then just tell him to run better routes, I guess? I dunno".

This is really an indictment of the whole judicial system.

Just a thought BUT is it possible the QBs limitations could have been the reason why Coaches didn't want him to do anything else? Sauce Beasley said they asked him to be Superman last season, meaning the Coaches put more on his plate and on his shoulders. Things didn't go well per Beasley and our own eyes.

Coaches need to come up with new things to hide deficiencies of their players BUT players also have to improve on their weaknesses and deficiencies. That means the OL, the RBs, the WRs, the TEs, the DL, the LBs, the DB's, the PK, the Punter, the Long Snapper and yes...the QBs.

They just need to fight, scratch and claw harder next season. No worries.
