That's definitely a need. One will likely fall too if we're not inclined to take one in the first.

I mean, it's way early so a lot can change but another thing good for the Cowboys is the OT class next year. They won't need one and it isn't just Mel who has 3 or 4 in the first round right now. Could push a guy down we covet.

The top of the draft is loaded at D Line. Oliver and Gary seem like surefire Pro Bowlers. Currently we are so deep at D Line but with Lawrence, Irving, Ealy, and Datone Jones in their last years, a real chance to move on from Crawford's contract ($5.9M in cap savings), and the uncertainty/unreliability of Gregory, it could move to the top of our needs-list. Free agency isn't too bad for d-linemen next year either, not that we'd sign one who isn't on the clearance rack.

Barring something freaky, expect QB desperate teams to push several of them into the top 15. It's always a "bad year" but some teams panic.

Too soon for this.

The ink has not dried on 2018.

He must need a mortgage payment to start stuff like this.

Next he will tell us about 2022.

Who cares right now?

I'm hoping this is the last year of Marinelli and with it brings a change in how they view their talent and needs along the defensive line.
He absolutely needs to go.

His philosophies are crippling the ability to find talent.

People laughed at Wade Phillips, but he is 10X the defensive mind than Marinelli will ever be.

Phillips could work around the talent. Marinelli is nothing of the kind.

He needs to have peak athletes doing what he thinks works in his scheme. If he does not have that or tries to make cheap substitutes work, well, then you get years of defensive futility.

What's hardest to defend is his complete lack of regard for the role of a 1 tech. I can't wrap my brain around how a guy with his resume in the game could dismiss the impact of those type of players.

Can I finally have my Fat DT I’ve been wanting?
If we're awful this year (which I don't think we will be), then we could add a game-changing 3Tech (Ed Oliver) or a powerful 5Tech (Rashan Gary).

So far, I'm not seeing a Vita Vea-caliber 2019 draft prospect.
