Because the state doesn’t get to keep any profits like they do in the state run lotteries.
Love how they always try to sell lotteries to voters with stuff like “the profits will go to the schools” yet all the schools still poormouth constantly and the teachers strike.

Because the states does not disclose that the normal funds going to schools from taxes and such are deferred to other "pockets". The lottery money just replaces the tax money. But they let the people think it is extra money going to the schools, not just replaced.

It's like prohibition. The mob paid off the right people to keep it illegal, or they go out of the bookie business. Same with weed. I think this is great. How cool would it be to go to a sports bar and place bets right there on games. Also the benefit of legal betting is you can only make bets with cash you have or at least have credit for. With Bookies you are betting with money you don't have, that's how you end up getting knee capped. Being from NJ, I have seen many people really screw their lives with bookies.

I would, but I'd be getting ripped off. The last time I looked the Cowboys had better odds to win the Super Bowl than the Jags. Even with Saints, Houston, Rams, and some other team that is better. If they move the odds to where they should be, 40 or 50-1, I'll place a bet.

I would, but I'd be getting ripped off. The last time I looked the Cowboys had better odds to win the Super Bowl than the Jags. Even with Saints, Houston, Rams, and some other team that is better. If they move the odds to where they should be, 40 or 50-1, I'll place a bet.

Too many people betting on the Cowboys. I doubt the odds change in the direction you are hoping for.

The last time I bet on the Cowboys was when I was vacationing in Las Vegas. I put a bet down on a Monday Night Football game we were playing against the Commanders. Quincy Carter was our QB at that time. We won that game, and I won $50 bucks!! LOL
