What's hardest to defend is his complete lack of regard for the role of a 1 tech. I can't wrap my brain around how a guy with his resume in the game could dismiss the impact of those type of players.

I can’t wrap my in around a team that spends draft and capital on interior oline with frequency and success that looks to counter that with no resources on the interior dl.

A lot of Defensive Tackles on that list.

Bolds well for Dallas but I have a feeling that the FO will pass.

Just think how dumb the idea of even thinking about who is going to be available in the next years draft when training camp for this years draftees hasn't even started yet. If you're going to start fussing over who going to be available in the 2019 draft why not start fussing over who will be in the 2020 or 2021 drafts too. Why not start looking at high school players that will be available in the 2023 and 2024 draft while you're at it. Do you really think teams are putting their 2019 draft boards together now?

Yes. Teams have their lists and scouts have their assignments. The work on the 2019 draft has already begun.

In fact it's impossible to work on the 2018 draft without also working on 2019. You see players not yet available. You file away that information.

Basically your post was horrible, is what I'm saying.

Scouting departments already have started their 2019 boards and have files on 2020 and 2021 prospects. I know someone who works for a team who starts the player database with top 100 high school recruits.

Also, this is a draft forum and for many fans, the draft is a year round conversation. If you don't want to hear about the draft this far out, simply choose not to read the threads in this forum.

If we're awful this year (which I don't think we will be), then we could add a game-changing 3Tech (Ed Oliver) or a powerful 5Tech (Rashan Gary).

So far, I'm not seeing a Vita Vea-caliber 2019 draft prospect.
Rashaan Gary and Dexter Lawrence are better prospects than Vita Vea

Case in point...

Jets scouts were watching Darnold closely since his redshirt year at USC. Wasn't even playing yet but they were getting positive feedback from Darnold running the scout team.

Especially when the best teams he coached had some of the best 1 Techs in the game.
