Austin's the scatback, not really a RB. Smith is only moderately talented.
I see them using Austin on the ole jet sweep and dump offs. Like they used Dunbar. I would like to see them use Elliot on the dumpoffs more this year. He is great after the ball in his hands.

He looks a lot like Derrick Henry but less shifty, still more shifty than Jacobs with much better acceleration. Bo gets up to speed much faster than you’d expect. I think barring injuries and protection issues he’ll be a part of the offense sooner rather than later.

Jacobs had freaky good acceleration for a man his size.

I don't think so. Dallas doesn't have another back like him. That big, that physical, and that mean,he'll make the 53. He'll play and he will force a lot of defensive people to make a lot of business decisions.
To be fair, Zeke, Jackson, and Rod are all just as big or bigger than Bo.
So really we have three backs just like him. Some more talented, some less.

I dunno, Alabama players just never seems to make it in the NFL (a small handful are OK)...different "rules" in college in the SEC? you know, like they can't take the same vitamins in the NFL that they likely feed those dummies from the SEC (most interviews you can't tell that they have an education)....I am hopeful for this guy, but thought it REALLY curious why no NFL teams wanted him in the first 6 rounds? this looks like a version of what Dallas normally does with 2nd round picks - take a chance and see what happens - not a bad move fo the 7th round
Alabama is one of the most successful teams for players transitioning to the NFL. I really have no clue what you're basing this comment off of.

Bo also has good long speed, which means if he breaks through the line, he's a nice threat to go all the way.

Seriously, the only real issue w/ Bo is injuries, which is why he didn't log all that many carries at ALA. Which is to our benefit, because he'd have gone much higher if he had!!!!

Depends on what he shows in the preseason.
That's true for any player.

He's a good fit for us, as we have a line who will keep him clean behind the LOS.

But as of today, Bo is the 236th pick of the 2018 draft. Every year we've got these guys we "just can't afford to cut", who teams will "snap up in a minute". We cut them, we put them on the PS.

On your side, BTB has 7/8 bloggers having Bo make the 53. As our 5th back.

Guys on their bubble - Rico, Brown, Covington, White, Thomas, Kelly, Edwards, Martin.

Darius doesn't even make the bubble, but I think he makes it extra hard for the 236th pick, who already had an uphill battle. Darius is not just competition, but also as another chance to sneak a RB onto the 53. If we lose either one of them, we'll be fine with the other. Two bites at the apple.

Zeke is the bell cow, Rod is his backup, and Tavon the gimmick back. If Zeke will miss a full game, we bring up a PS squad RB to backup Rod. We don't need another on game day. I don't see us carrying a 5th back.

put him on the 53 and let him run. its not like we are a roster of super stars. we have the room and really, if we are even stupid enough to carry 3 qbs, we arent playing to win the SB.

Quarterbacks are the greatest currency in football. Can be pure money in trades and of course if called into action.

So if we like our backups I absolutely carry 3 QBs. This Bo ain’t that Bo.
