Dak is an athletic quarterback with perhaps greater athleticism than Tony Romo. But Tony was a wizard at avoiding rushing linemen. His spin move was patented and got him out of so many near sacks. If I were coaching Dak I would make him learn that move and use it just like Tony did.

We've seen him use it but I'm guessing it's an instinctual thing. Dak just needs to get better at feeling pass rushers and I don't think that's something that can be taught.

That would be great, but its a different team. We dont need Houdini out there anymore. We need a great leader/bus driver that makes the right play and runs the offense. Hands off the Zeke, makes the plays that are there. His 12 yard run for a first down last night is something Romo doesnt do. Dak keeps the chains moving and makes the conservative, right play. This is what we need at the moment. Dont need a gunslinger.

If the play isnt there, throw it away. We dont need some guy back there running around, getting killed, fumbling, taking a 15 yard sack, or throwing a pick. Dak is doing just fine.

Who says Romo wasn't coaching him up in 2016?
He absolutely was. Dak said it himself, that while Romo was injured that he was in the coaches meetings with him and drawing up plays for him. His rookie season wasn’t just him going out there and winging it. That’s why he would be a very high paid QB coach for him. It’s a Offense built for years around Romo. Whom else to help him.

Romo was a master at spinning out and buying time. Also, Romo had the defenses read and knew exactly where he wanted to pass the ball off, so if he had to spin around and run across the field he still knew who would be open.

I think Dak is more athletic and chooses to run with it at this point. As time goes by I think he will develop the evade and pass option.
