Should have drafted a S or DT instead of Bo
Same goes for Cedric Wilson, Mike White and Dalton Schultz.

Pick any 2 of the 4 and we were better off taking both a S and a DT in their place.

It was 7th round. At that point a team just has to look for any player at any position that might be able to,play in the NFL.

I'd prefer to see Bo receive more carries to get a better picture of his real value.

He's best utilized in such a situation whereby he's able to wear a defense down.

He's at a disadvantage arriving here this year due to others having similar traits.

I am thinking it doesn't matter about which backs make it. If Elliott goes down, this team is done. The offense runs through a RB that the DC's fear, that is the key to the passing game. Any of these other backs have to step into that RB1 role for any appreciable time and we can chalk this one up. Elliott had a better backup last season and we saw how that worked.

All Linehan needs to revert to his old ways is the catalyst of the offense out. We've seen him and his QB without Elliott and it ain't pretty.

We didn't do well with Big Smitty or Lee out but remove the sparkplug and this engine is dead.

I want him to work over the defense. HIs running style might not last long, but it can be utilized for our purposes.

Its not like Bo has a wreckless running style like Marion barber or something. The guy ran most of the time with the purpose of not only getting yards but also attempting to cut and avoid contact.

He will last more than most believe.

Agree, I think they should give him the 1st half in the next game. See what he does and give him at least 15 touches. I think he is a long shot but they know about RBs 1 and 2 already.

I watched every Bama game and at times he was just like OJ Howard, I'd forget he was there and then he'd turn it on run well.

That'd definitely play to his strengths if that were to happen, although there are so many RBs for us to test this year that it'll make it difficult. To my thinking, he's easily worthy of being more than a 7th round pick -- I was quite surprised to see him still available when we finally drafted him.

In the event he ends up on the practice squad, I'd say he won't be there long before another team snatches him up.

This offseason many fans claimed he was the draft steal of the decade.

I was skeptical based on watching his collwge game footage.

I'm still not ready to proclaim his as great, but he looked good. He is faster and a better pass catcher than expected. Oddly his inside running is what I question. He needs a clean run to/past the OL. I think he will struggle when defenders penetrate into the backfield similar to how McFadden had issues in that area.

His biggest issue is that D.Jackson looked decent also and he is big and fast.
Just no, he was never proclaimed as great. He is good value but clearly the back up. Do you really need reminding that this is Zeke's spot?

So angry.

So what if he looked slower than 4.5?

Toruk_Makto stalks me. He follows me around and trys to make some ridiculous point, usually by taking some very sublte comment I made and trying to turn it into something debatable.

He has no idea if I thought Bo was a 4.6 forty guy and I'm just seeing his speed OR if I knew exactly his measured speed and I now think he is faster than that on the field.

I think anybody that's been around here long knows that I know the player's forty times and that I watched college footage of all draft picks.

A 4.52 forty is in that middle area that's not really considered either fast or slow.

He exclaims Bo ran a 4.52 at 228 pounds like that was amazing, but Darius Jackson at only 8 fewer pounds and ran a 4.4 flat.

He's got a slow first step and his vision isn't much. That said, if you give the lad a running start and a good sized hole he can knock down a lot of bowling pins (aka DB's). I noticed he was working the the punt team the other night as an outside rusher. He better keep that special teams stuff rolling for sure. Darius is quicker, faster and has better vision based on the limited sample size I saw the other night. People don't miss Bo, as there isn't much es-capability there unless they are just too small to take him down.

I wonder if they can sneak Bo to the practice squad...
Bo might be too butthurt to agree to land on the practice squad, being how he was vocally bragging how he was going to be Zeke's dynamic duo rushing sidekick. Guess he's going to learn that being braggadocious does not guarantee you a roster spot?

I would not say that Rod Smith sucks,, he does possess somewhat of a skillset, you have your opinion.
Lets see if Rod Smith can build on what he has shown in the next few weeks.
Just 1 game in to the pre season and Rod Smith sucks?
Im betting that Rod Smith proves you wrong when its time to cut down, I bet RS makes the cut and earns it, out right.
Not sure if you know this but Risen likes to say the opposite of what he means.

RSmith is still a glorified FB.....good but not anything special

Bo is a 3 down RB.... he is a perfect handcuff for EE....could be a DHenry type

DJax has skills but is a dime a dozen

We need a scat back like T Austin for change of pace plays

I would keep EE, RSmith, Bo, Olawale

Hurns, TWill, Gallup, Cole, TAustin, DThompson

Jarwin, Rico, Schultz

Actually Rod is a RB. He put on weight when they asked him to to compete at FB. A team players, so he did.
I think it was work the shot. But last year they had him lose, weight and moved him back to RB, his more natural position.

Of anything, depending on how much the use Austin at WR instead of the Dunbar type back, look out for Trey Williams to be that guy.

But you are most likely right, they keep those 4. And I won’t be opposed to it, but if it is Bo, Darius or Trey, all will be ok, I don’t think I would complain about that.

Yes but still if they look,at it like that, there are quite a few that also play S or DT. It wasn’t like at that point. There were jist RB’s that could play.

First off, I don't think you can fairly judge any player based on 2nd team reps and a quarter of play on the first preseason game.
2ndly, the coaches have to understand the type of runner you have in there. He's a north south runner, stop pulling him, and if you do, make it a surprise.
3rdly, the guy has some speed when he's out in the open and his tackle breaking was on display.
4thly, Let's see what happens over the next 3 games.

4 thread pages on a 7th-round pick, in his first preseason game, vs scrubs.

Even the coaches aren’t sure what they have at this point, but some Zoners are all in the know.

I expected him to look bigger and more powerful than he did....he looked slow to me....was hoping more barber like

There was some freaky weird angle on the video we saw in the draft that gave the illusion he was much taller
