A new feature on DallasCowboys.com this training camp is to hand out some Cowboys-themed “gold stars” after each padded practice here in Oxnard. Saturday had a wide range of players on both sides of the ball and even a coach made an appearance on the list.

David Helman: It’s hard for an offensive lineman to make a big impression in a non-contact practice, but Connor Williams sure did seem to stand out on Saturday night. He laid a big block on Sean Lee during Lee’s first rep back in live practice. He also got called in front of the team during Compete Period, where he got the upper hand on Daniel Ross in two out of three reps. After practice, Williams kept working, as he spent 15 minutes working one-on-one with Zack Martin. Not a bad day for the rookie.

Noah Brown's only charm is on special teams. And as a tackler.
And the fact he is the best blocking receiver in the team. That being said you have to make plays and he isn't because he is hurt. Being available is almost as important as talent

I think they call Austin a back and keep one more if Thompson or Brown can get back on the field.

So they keep:

Backs
Zeke
Smith
Bo
Austin

Receivers
Hurns

Beasley
Williams
Gallup
Lenoir
Thompson or Brown

Four backs, huh?

They’ll keep a FB as well. 6 WR’s, 4 RB’s, 1FB, 3 QB’s, 3 TE’s, 8 OL’s. 25 on offense. I see this scenario if Thompson or Brown prove they are more valuable than Gathers and Jackson.

Lance Lenior is just one reason I love preseason.

He'll get some reps with the 1s soon.
