Reality check for some

this is what Dak excels at...

This is what can make us a very good and dangerous team...

We will not be an air raid passing prolific team!

We just need a cole Beasley to stay open, a cheap reliable Gallup type

And then run, bootleg, QB runs, screens , and dominate and control the game
It appears that this became a trap game for Jax, Dak's accuracy still isn't great, He had the longest time to throw of any QB Sunday (NFL.com) and still missed wide open receivers. If this game is a indicator of what Dak needs to be successful it's not going to happen regularly and Dak will not last running like that weekly. Poor defensive play (who would of thought) , all day in the pocket (he will still miss wide open receivers with regularity) , a great run game and a lot of Dak run's and sub 200 yard passing days, play against a terrible offensive team. This is now the cowboys recipe for winning, unfortunately this is not the formula for winning in today's NFL. You can all expect exceedingly stupid remarks from the Jones boys and JG this week. By the end of the year this team will be 7-9 or 8-8 another typical JG, JJ team, enjoy the middle of the round draft pick and more of the same next year and the year after and year.....................

Both the team and coaches showed a lot of character. This was a defining game this season and I truly believe they could not recover from a 2-4 start.

Jason Garrett always preached a closeness when it came to the team. He wanted players that would be willing to play for each other and I think that is what we saw. However, this is one game. They have to continue to play with the same intensity while improving. The potential is there. They cannot afford a letdown.

Absolutely -- it's always easy to show up flat when away from home but real competitors do so despite the hostile crowds. I hope we leave our cavalier play behind at Fed Ex Field on Sunday afternoon. Our win vs. the Jaguars could be a good start for a run of victories if the collective will of our players were to allow it. Ideally, their pride and will to win will serve to move them. Losing is for losers -- here's hoping they can't abide by that.

I've heard anti-depressants can be useful in such situations. Also, treating these games as sources of entertainment might help. ;)

The pass protection was much better in the Jags game than in the Texans game.

Dak intentionally running might have been part of the reason the pass pro was better, but it was much better.

You can go by stats and definitely not by PFF grades.

Watch all offensive plays on the All-22 from one game then watch the other game.

In general Dak is very good when the pressure is less than 40%.
Protection has been solid all year long. Guys like Watt and Clowney are probably this OL’s toughest matchup but they still held up for the most part in that game and gave Dak time to make plays. He just didn’t get the job done. But I’ll agree that yesterday was the OL’s best pass protection game and Houston might have been their worst.

My only complaint about yesterday was we ran the ball on 1st down every freaking time. No suprises...Other than that the best effort they've put together in 2 years.

You are like a fly on every meal ... don't need 'em.. they love left overs and mediocre coaching .
Mediocre coaching? Come on? You don't even have the guts to give Garrett, Linehan and the rest of this coaching staff the credit they deserve for calling an outstanding game? They totally tore it up with their game calling yesterday versus what was the league's #1 ranked Jaguars Defense. They earned that credit.

You're hatred is so full of holes. Unbelievable.

So this is what you stating ....we run a high school offense without a qualified air attack...if you think Beasley will be open in every game like yesterday really don't know what to tell you.
Dak did have his goofball moments yesterday gridiron luck was on his side fortunately for us but once again he proves he is a grade C QB and this will cost us big time in the following weeks....just remember my post here.
QB like Prescott come to the NFL to sit on the bench or jump from one bench to another till there short careers end.....
The poster child of hate has spoken. I knew even after a blow out win you would come here and crap on the Cowboys. Easy bet.

you must suffer from anti social psychosis... there is meds for that.

i've seen you attacking EVERY POSTER that wants Garret get fired ... it might very well be about 95 % of the posters in here.

your posts lack mental balance, all of them attacking or dismissing other posters while defending jason garrett..
Because he's right and those 95% are wrong for the Jags game? Give credit where credit is due. Garrett, Linehan and staff coached a very well game against the Jags.

I swear some fans here are pissed we blew out the Jags. Enjoy the ******* win, there will be other games to whine and cry about.

If these "Garrett growth" moments didn't only come after putting his team in such a hole they will likely not recover or because daddy Jerry called him out in public, they might have some merit. Good news is we have had plenty of time to evaluate his true nature & understand this lemming will never change his stripes. He will always be a stuck in the past, can't understand he's the problem schmuck that sucks the life out of this fan base.

The guy is a bonafied *****. Simple as that. These bloke types are ruining this website just like they ruined the old official one. One can't even enjoy a huge blowout win without these blokes full of hatred swooping in to ruin it simply because they are dead wrong with their hatred.

Eventually, we will need a high quality starting WR with size and hands. We will also need a top end receiving TE for the QB. This team handles adversity and bad press and gives a great effort, but no....regardless of today’s score, this team will need additional and much better talent on offense.

With how much we play a TE, we would definitely get our money's worth. Swaim's contract is up, and the other guys don't look close to ready to take over.

We'll need our starter.

At Jax, at least, both Hurns and Gallup took starter snaps. 80% each. Hurns really failed to impress. I hope they give Butler a legitimate shot.

We are definitely lacking that 'other" WR. If the opposing defences double-team Beasley, that "other" guy would eat them alive. If they double team that "other" WR, then Beasley will eat them alive. Spell that with a TE outlet and we have a passing game.

Hurns played 80% of snaps. 0 for 5 on targets. Ouch. Only 1 for 3 the week before.

With Austin getting injured, Hurns looking crappy, Thompson not even taking a snap against Jax, and Williams on IR, it's looking mighty thin at WR all of a sudden. Maybe Noah is actually going to be brought up to the 53.

My hope was to have a few guys who were pretty good bets to beat single coverage. Or enough of a threat deep that teams aren't willing to risk single coverage. Butler might give that deep threat, but I see Gallup and Hurns as guys teams will be comfortable taking their chances on. We need another true wideout to beat single coverage in the base. And I don't see him.

You are the "Hate" man and frankly speaking without any competition to speak of.....

I believe 6'5" rookie WR Cedrick Wilson would have been playing much better than Hurns has shown so far. Remember, Cedrick Wilson was tearing it up in training camp prior to injuring his shoulder. What a shame. Looking forward to seeing him next year.

As for Hurns, he's a bust. A JAG. I would rather take a chance with practice squad WR Lance Lenoir than Allen Hurns.

I wonder why they haven’t called Lenior up yet from PS.

It makes no sense, Glimm. Lenoir played pretty good during preseason before missing the cut and being relegated to the practice squad. I believe it's a sign of "favoritism" and "pride" going on in Big D. The coaching staff dropped a big one going after Allen Hurns, who is showing to be a waste and a JAG. The guy absolutely sucks.

I wondered if it had something to do with the muffed punts in that game. Jones bumped him on the first one. The second one was just a mistake. Up until then he played very well. You could see all the air come out of his sails after that. It’s hard to get field time as a rook. JG is terrible about getting certain ones snaps. Look at Rico. He and Swaim is the best we have at TE.
