This guy has a point ... this trade would make sense if this would be to test Garrett . But is here to stay .

I dont need Amari Cooper to let me know that Dak is not a franchise QB. I just need my eyes...
Like many of us have said numerous times, Dak is the best backup QB in the league, if he exceeds all expectations he will be Alex Smith.
Let him go some place else, let him play out his contract , call his bluff we are not going the SB with him at the healm.
Trust the process, how did we find Romo? Rely on our scouts.
How did the Saints get Brees'... they got a distressed asset.
The other obvious choice is draft in the top 10 -15 let someone fall to you.. like Watson, Mahomes.

Look at FA, Tyrod Taylor, Teddy Bridgewater- make an offer, dare the saints to match it.
Fitzpatrick..

I would rather we build up the rest of the team than just concentrate on Dak.
Any Qb that comes in next year will he happy we have a WR1, instead of the pedestrian personnel we were trotting out there. Let’s not forget WR is a position of need, either we draft one and hope we picked the right guy or we trade for one we know can play. Great move by the FO

Collin says 7 more years. That puts Cooper at 31.
We dumped Dez at 29. Should have dumped it sooner if we could.

We got a first round pick for a year and a half, giving up another first round pick for 5 years. Genius.

And gee, if we're evaluating Dak to think about moving on from him, that 1st round pick sure could come in handy.
Only 2 QBs worth taking next year if that. What would guarantee is getting one of those with our 11th overall pick? Those guys will be long gone before we see them, we would have to trade the house to even sniff a franchise QB in the draft.

Colin just about always bring some fresh view. Of course I agree with him. Being timid is no way to run a football team.

I think my initial anger from this move has subsided, we overpaid and i would prefer the FA option, but it is what it is. You are right at least we a viable WR.

Good or Bad, depending what you believe about Cowturd….he reminds me of that teacher off of Charlie Brown. Every now and then SOMETHING he says is ledgible and has a grain of truth to it. I don't pay much mind to what sports shock jocks say. NEXT.

I most of the time hate to listen to Cowherd but honestly have to say his spill was spot on. I for one never thought of all the valid points made but he for sure hit this one on the head. I agree it was a good move. Yes I would had rather have DeAndre Hopkins but hell we all know it would take 2 first plus more for someone like him. Amari is young and I think this will be a good move for us. Time will tell.

Cowherd makes a lot of good points.
YES BUT ARE ANY OF THEM TRUE? LOL...be careful man...don't let him give you the Kool aid. Tread carefully when he lays out these theories, because that's all it is HIS THEORY. LOL....Ratings hounds equal big dollars and lots of clicks as a result.

The guy's defended Garrett too long calling him a good coach to be taken seriously. I watch him for entertainment purposes only. lol But his point is true and since we got him might as well air it all out. It's do or die for Linehan, The Red headed clapper and Dak.

They would be valid for a normal organization. The Cowboys FO is not normal.

I think this is pretty legit, but I found the trade conversation

STEPHEN JONES: Hay dad I heard a rumor that the Raiders only want a first rounder for Cooper.

JERRY JONES: I don’t know there junior maybe we should give them two firsts for him. Oh hey hand me my whiskey.

STEPHEN JONES: Well maybe we should call in Garrett and get his opinion on this?

JERRY JONES: *laughing while taking a big drink* Yeah I haven’t shoved my hand up his arse and puppeted him in a good 48 hours

STEPHEN JONES: Hey sexretary send up coach Garrett please.

Secretary: Yes Sir.

Secretary: Coach Garrett can you please come up to the Emperor’s room?

JASON GARRETT: Uhhhh yes tell them I am running up right now.

JASON GARRETT: *panting out of breathe* Uhhhhh Jerrah and Lil Jerrah what can I do for you?

STEPHEN JONES: Well Jason we are wondering what your thoughts are on us trading a first for getting Cooper from Gruden?

JASON GARRETT: Well what do you guys think about it?

JERRY JONES: Man someone get me another damned bottle of whiskey that doesn’t have a hole in it!!!

Secretary: Yes sir right away!

STEPHEN JONES: Dad can we focus on this possible trade?

JERRY JONES: I shoulda rubbed you out in the toilet! Fine business away you wasted flush!

STEPHEN JONES: Well Jason what do you think?

JASON GARRETT: Well if daddy and his whiskey thinks it’s a good idea than I do too

JERRY JONES: Ahhhh you guys know what is better than an 8th glass of whiskey? Yeah that’s right this 9th glass of whiskey!

STEPHEN JONES: Well dad I think one first is more than enough for Cooper

JERRY JONES: *mumbling drunkenly* fine do what you want…

STEPHEN JONES: Jason you can leave.

JERRY JONES: *mumbling drunkenly* Ahhh I was about to smear peanut butter on my lap again and make him lick it off! *laughing while falling to floor*

STEPHEN JONES: Give the Raiders a call and tell them they can have their first for Cooper

Secretary:*mumbling* I hate my job
While I've vowed to abstain in the participation of this thread,I am compelled thru the inherent power of my humor casing-liner to post this:

Giving up a premium first round pick for a player in decline, for whatever reason, is stupid. Period.

It doesn't even matter why he's in decline or if he has the talent. He hasn't been injured, he's just been playing like ****. Why would you go out and aggressively pursue a guy who is legitimately playing awful?

Not only that, doing so after cutting a guy for exactly the same stuff. This FO can't get out of their own way.

No, this isn't the equivelant of a first round pick in '19, because this player would never go in the first round in 19.

There is absolutely no selling this as anything but a desperate move by a lost front office. It's further proof of how in over their heads they are.

One thing I MUST disagree with you on is the "decline" statement. He is 24,thats all. a couple months older than Rookie Calvin Ridley...so theres that. Could it be that the reasons he looks as if hes been declining is many fold? Bad coaches, poor system, revolving door of players around him...INJURIES perhaps. I think its not so simple. Its complicated. He may just need to get into game shape and only way he will do this is being healthy.
