He is not without a little blame. Most of the blame falls to the coaching, FO, and defenses they fielded. How many times did he lead a go ahead score early in the fourth to have the defense break and he had to try and win it with 2-4 minutes left.

The fact that Romo never won a Superbowl? I find it hard to fault him for that, there are plenty of big time QBs who never won a Superbowl.

The fact he never got to a Superbowl?

The fact he never got to a NFC Championship game?

The fact that he only won 2 playoff games in 10 years?

He owns some of that.

He never played on a SB winning caliber team. There were always glaring weaknesses even with the handful of really good teams he played on. So no, not his fault.

When he had the offensive players, he never had a defense. When the defense got built up, he had no offensive weapons.
But yet Shula was never blamed. Not that I remember.

The team was solid his first year as a starter.

Defensive passer rating against was pretty pathetic during the Romo era even when we had supposedly good defenses.

Always horrible at end of half end of game.

All the blame went to Romo. His gunslinging was our only chance to win. That's why I don't fault him for a lot of the late picks.

Was that Romo's fault? Just curious... & very interested in your perspectives.

Teams win and teams lose together.

So yes. He shoulders some of the blame. No way around it.

Was it mostly his fault? Or even approaching some scintilla of being a significant share of his fault?

No. But it's a team game. He's part of the team. So he shoulders a share of that burden. That's just the way it is.

Partially but was it Marino’s also?
Or Finkle?
Just for the record, I place the blame squarely on the shoulders of Jason Garrett who was his OC for many years and his HCIT for many other years. I don't blame Romo at all. He may have broken my heart several times but that break began with the way he was managed (or not managed).
