When is the last true leader you remember on this team?

Romo tried but never really got the respect but never exactly demanded it. Didn’t work.

Dez, some thought he was a locker room divider like TO. Not true, he was a very passionate player that would get in players faces to pump them up and sometimes argued. Did I agree with him clearing off the gator side table or yelling at some. No, but when he tries to be a leader it wasn’t received well.

D-Ware, tried to lead by example, didn’t work.

Witten, a stand up player that again leads by example, didn’t work.

No player really becomes a leader here. And you hear it all the time, where are the leaders. Time for the leaders to stand up and take control.

Had Elliot and Dak that they said was gonna do the job. Elliot has been silenced by our playcalling and Dak can’t seem to get it going and you don’t see him in the faces of the O-Line or TE when they miss a block or get a penalty.

The Hot Boyz started hot but D-Law is really just wanting a big contract. I don’t blame him but he isn’t going to be a leader.

Everyone just wants a paycheck. I think it’s the condition that JJ has set up here. The atmosphere. He wouldn’t mind having some players that are leaders. He just don’t want a HC to be one. Takes away from his glory. Without a true leader on the sidelines it’s always gonna be tough.

Aikman demanded respect and took control of the Offense. That was a long long time ago.

Witten was the leader till last year, someone else has to fill those shoes eventually.
I just mean a Irvin or Aikman type.Witten was a leader It was obvious from our TE play this year. Did you see the missed block on the goal line last week. The counter tray play and our #86 literally avoided blocking the DE. Dak changed it at the line to the run and he apparently didn’t get the message even though he heard it. That missed block alone cost us the TD.

It’s because he isn’t a leader himself. Book smart but can’t lead men.
Maybe he should spend more time working on how to design a gameplan with Linehan and less time going to the WS when your team is <500........maybe also doing more HC duties and less time playing catch with his players...................Jason, the team don't need another buddy, they need a HC.

Make no mistake....Jerry Jones is the team leader, and has been for far too long. He’s the leader in the front office, the coaches office and the locker room. By design.
You can’t win consistently like that. You can have a season here and there. Until you get to the playoffs when the players look to and needs a leader on the sidelines that will make the right choices. The players can’t look to the sky box for that.

Many is right. Our TE don’t know there blocking assignments. We are once again getting drive killing penalties. A QB that has to much on his shoulders for his talent level at this point. And a HC that stinks at game management. That challenge last week? What was that? Terrible playcalling. Consistently abandoning the run game again.

I think Fred was a good leader, and now that he isn't there, there is a big gap
Are you kidding me? He ran this O-Line. The line is lost out there not to mention a HC that let his O-Line coach walk and hires guy that the bengals fire to get him.

Yep and we don't have enough time to discuss all those issues that's why I think Troy Aikman hit the nail on the head saying there needs to be a whole system change here that in itself begs for a long conversation

JJ will never let that happen. He gets the players but won’t get the staff and give them the power to run it.

Irvin was the last great leader IMO,, he elevated everyone around him by his actions and play on the field, not by acting the fool on the sidelines,,,
never saw a temper tantrum from Irvin, but I saw plenty of dominating performances that carried this team to championships and SBs.
His play on the field elevated this team.
I just don't see that type of player on this roster any more, not like that.
I believe Dez wanted to emulate that type of character, but he never even came close.

You're funny, Travis Frederick, Sean Lee, Dak all have been identified as leaders in the lockeroom.
