Chemistry Issue With Gallup

I try not to throw myself in the QB debate fire but here we go.

I guess I would qualify as a Dak apologist to some people here. I like the guy and I feel like he has some tools to develop but I try to be fair. I was yelling at my television and ready to blame him for loss tonight on multiple occasions but...

The Gallup issues aren’t all on him. The fact that he is connecting with Cooper on these same throws tells me that he has the ability. Him and Gallup should be practicing tirelessly to get this timing and chemistry down so they can routinely take advantage of these opportunities. Dak/Cooper are on the same page after just a few weeks of practice with no training camp.

After all, these are not high percentage throws regardless of what some fans think. We were 1/3 last week, 0/3 today. If we capitalized on 1-2 more of these opportunities these last two weeks may have been a bit less stressful.

Edit: This is not a slight on Gallup..just an observation that the deep passes seem to be a chemistry issue more than an ability issue.

Aikman commented on the overthrow to Gallup that he slowed up when Dak was releasing the ball. He will learn that in time and his timing with Dak will be there next year.

Also its different with Amari because he is a freak of nature that can outrun overthrown balls.

I don't recall Cooper being touted as having that kind of speed, but damn, the man can fly.

Its easy to say Dak can't throw the deep ball but there's a reason why he can connect with a veteran like Cooper and he's not with Gallup. I'm optimistic about Gallup. He and Dak BOTH need to get on the same page with each other. That 2nd over throw was on Gallup. I can't say if the 1st was or not......I've heard people say he let up on that route too but I couldn't tell from television. I'm not concerned with it. Its going to come.

Well that face mask on Gallup turning his head could have had something to do with the over throw too.

I am glad they are trying it more than usual though.
They will connect on it soon
Yeah this isn't like Hurns or Dez......you can tell they just aren't on the same page now but it will come. I love that Gallup is getting burn and I hope it continue. They will get better.

Dak just can’t throw deep very well. He doesn’t get to put it up so the we can run under it.

I Have to wonder if Dak doesn’t trust Gallup’s ability to win on an underthrown ball so he leads him deep instinctively. He trust Cooper to make a play if it’s contested more than Gallup.

Either way....I believe he can get this throw down...and when he does, look out.

The chemistry sucks. Point blank.

But, I wonder how much of that is the speed difference between Amari and Gallup. It's definitely some missed opportunities though, but they are coming available. Hopefully we can hit at least some of them, sooner would be better.

All I know is Gallup is open a lot. So yeah, it'd be great if they fixed this.

Gallup is going to be an excellent WR because of his routes. His hands are a concern right now but I think that improves with time as he develops his timing and anticipation with Prescott.

Gallup is doing his job.

If Dak can’t hit a receiver that is 5 yards by the defender then that’s on him.

Blaming chemistry and all of this other stuff is really overthinking it.

He’s wide open. Throw him the ball. You’re a professional at throwing a ball so hit a guy that open with the football.

Exactly - this is what I wrote in another thread on the same subject...

Oh please stop - Gallop lets up a bit on the last one and now its a "thing"

This is like 4-5 weeks in a row that Gallop absolutely burned his man and Dak overthrew him, there was absolutely no let up on the routes .

Geez he had his man beat by like 7 yards against NO and Dak overthrew him by a mile.
