His contract should consist of incentives that could allow him to make some money

Even if we get into the playoffs, he still holds on to the ball too long. He can't consistently throw deep and hit his targets. Before someone twists my words, I'll clarify... I'm not saying Dak should throw deep every time. I'm saying his accuracy needs to vastly improve consistently when he does throw deep.. Tonight was an anomaly.

I'm not giving Dak another contract period...I would kurt cousins him

I meant when his contract is up to franchise tag him.. My point is there is word out there that Jerry wants to pay Dak big money. I think it's crazy to even think that right now.. He needs to get better...
I agree
But the only way he gets better is a new OC I feel
Don’t think Moore is the issue
But before I paid him I’d try anything because you have your QB spot fixed if you can fix a couple of issues with Dak
I’m with you on fixing before paying but in the end he’s gonna get extended because there aren’t any easy solutions to not signing him

I'm not opposed to paying Dak big money. But not next year. I say we franchie tag him, get rid of Moore and get a Quarterback coach (who can actually coach) and take up this issue next year. If Dak doen't improve next year, it's adios...

Your thoughts?

This game would scare me even more in terms of extending him. He seems to be getting worse with protecting ball and really struggles in red zone. He shows alot of fight and I do think he is a winner but I would absolutely let it play out next year to see if he improves or continues to be incredible inconsistent. I will say this: I don't see many successful playoff QB who lead league in any turnover category.

I personally would look to upgrade the QB position unless we go deep in the playoffs

The problem is, with who? Which FA QB are you going to pay $30M+ to? Which QB are we going to have a legitimate chance of drafting in the next 2 years that is certain to be better than Dak? I didn’t like the idea of extending him early at first, but I think it’s going to be most cost effective for us. Dak can be an above average QB, especially if we get a better TE and new offensive coaching staff.

I don't know what to make of Dak still. Not a big arm or a precision passer, but makes plays and gets the job done. When going through the list of starting QBs in the NFL and objectively comparing how many would you say are all around better than Dak? I count 11 or 12 guys that you would consider ahead of Dak. 5 of them are nearing the end of their careers. I dont think you'll see Dak ever considered a top 5 guy, but we could do far worse.

The short of it, I'm not opposed to extending Dak after next season, provided the contract reflects his talent. QB contracts in general are insane and its likely something between 20 and 24 million a season to retain him. That seems like a lot of money for Dak, but if there's a chance you can get him between 15 and 17 million thats an absolute bargain and most should be satisfied with that. That would pay him around the top 20 in the league.

I just think you have to at least bring someone in here to give him some competition. I'd like to use our next first on a QB.

how the hell do you know who is or is not a good qb coach? Id say the Saints, Pats, GB, Chiefs, Rams must all just have great QB coaches, right?

Dak’s clutch play is earning him a nice contract.

Why do you assume Moore can't coach?
