Video: We've seen Romo deliver plenty of these type of games Dak just had, yet doesn't get the same grief?

This game should have been deja vu for many of us.
As great as the D has played for 3 quarters, I had that same old pit in my stomach as I knew they were gonna let the Eagles continue to score until it came down to who had the ball last. We've seen this same movie before.

Romo has delivered these type of games over the years... bad to mediocre for a few quarters, then ball out in the 4th to win it or score then watch the defense let the opposition walk down the field and win it.
Dak played poorly but didn't put his head down. He stood tall and played with guts. He's a work in progress but the kid has a moxy/clutch gene that very few have, even those with more physical talents.

We deify Romo but seem to forget the numerous games that he had that were carbon copies of tonight.
Remember these?

(Look at these awful INT throws.)

(The "Witten tackling a cheerleader" game.)

Dak has another yr left on his rookie contract. He's frustrating as heck sometimes but let's hope and see if the guy can get better. No, he's not the passer Romo became (and didn't benefit from sitting 4 years behind veterans) but its possible he can tweak some things in his game to become better.

The vitriol around here is ridiculous. The same way we defended Romo from outside critics is the same way some of us are defending Dak from his own fanbase. Sad.

Romo throws the pick to lose the game while Dak throws the TD to win the game. Big difference.

I remember Romo being ripped to shreds with those bad games. Not sure where that's coming from. Romo was known for big let downs. Known for his terrible games. Romo becoming an incredible announcer saved his image. Before that I don't remember a love fest over Romo.

Using the logic around here from some, Romo should get less grief than Dak because Romo was a UDFA and Dak was an actual draft pick. Ergo, Romo was the better QB because he cost the Cowboys less.

You Dak stans gotta stop with the Romo stuff. He got eviscerated here and everywhere else far more than Dak. He was a national joke for years and many of our own fans openly hated him. There's a pic of him getting taunted out of his own stadium.

QB of the Cowboys comes with the bad as well as he good. Dak has made millions in endorsements already and will likely get a $100 million deal.

He can handle the criticism when it's deserved and when it isn't. You guys should stop the whining about it.

Romo never got grief? Selective memory there cause Romo could do nothing right in the eyes of the masses

I do think we've entered some kind of phase where memories seem to be fading about how badly fans treated Romo.

Funny thing is that he routinely had games where he had three-plus TDs, but hardly ever had a defense that could bail him out when he made mistakes so every mistake was magnified.

Should have been one, but there's a lot of people who didn't know what we had until it was gone ... and there's some who still don't understand it.

Maybe it will turn out the same way for Prescott. I get frustrated by his mistakes, by him missing some throws he has to make, by him holding the ball too long and taking unnecessary sacks, but he does seem to have that trait of being able to step up in the fourth quarter. Plus, he's got one thing that Romo rarely if ever had: a championship-caliber defense that makes the mistakes hurt less.

Romo was torn apart constantly. I definitely remember those two games. The game of his that still irks me the most is that Lions game where we were in control in the third quarter and he inexplicably threw two pick sixes to let them back into it then finished the game off with another INT.

Here's the difference: Romo was a gunslinger and risk taker by nature. This led to some multiple bad turnover games, especially early in his career. Dak is cautious, doesn't take many risks, holds the ball too long in the pocket, leading to sack-fumbles and he has horrible throws where he just flat out misses open receivers, even when he isn't pressured. He throws high a lot leasing to INTs and it hasn't gotten corrected in season 3.

Seriously what are you talking about?! Dak does not get 1/10th of grief of what Romo received during his time in Dallas. Romo was raked over the coals by fans, media, opposing players, opposing coaches, GMs, and media. They clowned on Romo during rankings. It was pathetic how poorly he was treated. Everyday. Every year.
