I wonder if they have a bounty program. They do this to everyone, and they were the ones that did Romo in.

If it's not a bounty, if it is, either way, they are attempting to injure another player.

Pete should be banned from the NFL.

For those interested, wikipedia has an in-depth page on the subject. It's worth reading.

This only happened because of an anonymous player/whistle blower...

"Between 22 and 27 Saints defensive players were involved. The players and Williams contributed their own cash to the pot, and received cash payments based on their performance in the previous week's game. For instance, a special teamer who downed a kick returner inside the receiving team's 20-yard-line earned $100. Players could also be fined for mental mistakes and penalties. Players also received "bounties" for "cart-offs" (plays in which an opponent was removed from the field on a stretcher or cart) and "knockouts" (plays that resulted in a player being unable to return for the rest of the game). Players usually earned $1,000 for "cart-offs" and $1,500 for "knockouts" during the regular season, though they were encouraged to put their winnings back into the pot in order to raise the stakes as the season went on. Payments were known to double or even triple during the playoffs."

The way Hurns fell down on the depth chart once we added Cooper and Gallup started to develop, there’s no guarantee he’s back with the team next year.

I would hope he isn't.

He only had 20 catches for 295 yards this season. His lack of productivity was a big part of the reason we traded for Cooper. He was part of the problem we had early in the season at receiver. Not so sure he’ll be back.

Hurns coming of a serious injury isn’t going to help his chances of being back with the team.

Yes, and, with what the Seahawks are doing and the fact that they get particularly dirty in the playoffs does indicate to me that there may well be a bit of that going on. Going directly at the ankles and clearly trying to roll or twist them makes this quite obvious. How the league hasn't stepped in yet screams hypocrisy from a league that preaches "player safety". If the Saints got slaughtered for what they did, then the Seahawks should face some sort of consequence for carrying on with trying to get players injured. If an injury occurs as an accident or in the normal course of the game, that's one thing. It's quite another when the opponents are trying to cause injuries. It's unfair and disgusting.

Also, I wholeheartedly agree that he needs to be banned from the NFL, especially if it's determined that he is indeed setting bounties. I recall that the Saints really were done in when Favre got hurt. That was no where near as bad as what happened to Hurts, and even Beasley got off worse than Favre. I can't for the life of me understand how Goodell can't see this. He was literally sitting right there in the stadium. Surely he can see the comparisons.

I think he will because I don't think Beasley will be back, and Hurns fits better in the slot. I think the problem was we tried to make him a number 1, when he is more of a slot chap and maybe a number 2 WR. Oh, speaking of which, I also doubt that TW is back, so I'm inclined to think that Hurns will be back.

The way the seahawks fall onto the back of the lower extremities really aggravate me. They know what they are doing when they do that.

It's why I say that I think that they are using a bounty programme similar to what the Saints did. They would also go straight for the ankles. Ask Brett Favre. The League needs to look into this properly. Goodell was.sitting there. He had to have noticed.

It’s going to come down to how he comes back from the injury and what we do in the draft.

I agree. Also, I'm still keen to see how Cedric Wilson does this off-season. He's the chap that I was on about in the draft, and he apparently was quite good until he tore his ACL.

I am really glad that he is ok but he needs to be released in march. no way can the cowboys afford to pay six million next year to a guy who only caught less then thirty catches all season. an undrafted receiver could have filled his roll. I am glad he is going to be ok.
 ,,,Ya, Well,,,while he'd seemingly came out on the HANDSOME END OF THE PER CATCH PAYDAY concerning those " less than 30 " CATCHES on the season,,,, 32 of them were of imperatively timely vital importance:rolleyes:

Gordan Hayward had ankle dislocation and fractured tibia.

Back within a year but not the same yet.

If you would have told me a year ago, when his injury occurred, that he'd be back playing again, a year later, and he'd already have 2 games of over 30 points, I would have laughed at you. It took Paul George close to 2 years to play at the level Gordon is playing at now, statistically speaking. He's improving every game. Not to switch sports but Gordon's biggest problem now is trying to fit in with a team that's full of talent and with guys that all want touches. Sorry to derail the thread...love talking Celts hoops!
