I went to the game saturday night and just got back...... here a few observations I had:

1. That was one of the most overwhelming home cowboy crowd I have ever seen. Everybody was on their feet waiving towels every defensive series. Super loud. There were hawks fans there, but cowboy nation really showed up from all over the country to give the team a true home field advantage.

2. In spite of what you might read on this board, Dak is wildly popular among the core fan base. His jersey is everywhere, and he got huge applause whenever they flashed him warming up on the big screen.

3. Cowboy legend Bill Bates is the nicest guy you could ever want to meet. Got to meet him at his tailgate party which is totally worth attending if you get a chance. The food is good, lots of beer ect.

4. The Cowboys as an organization seem to discourage and make tailgating difficult. I walked the stadium grounds about 6 hours before kickoff and was shocked to see all the parking lots closed. The tailgaters instead lined the streets around the stadium. Its kinda shocking that the team doesn't seem to want folks tailgating on stadium grounds.

5. ATT service sucks at ATT Stadium.

That is a stadium rule, tailgating only allowed on perimeter of the parking lot. It may be a rule from the city actually.

They do not discourage it. And lots usually open 4 hours before. That should be plenty f time.

I think the tailgating crack down is league wide. I live in the KC area and the tailgating there is legendary. They also have curtailed the amount of time the lots are open and have gone as far as kicking people out of the lot once the game starts. Lots of folks would pay the 50 bucks and bring a tv, tailgate and watch the game in the lot. No more. The boo hooing was legendary as well in these parts.

I was there too. Had to stuff tissue in ears, yes it was loud. Unfortunately, many thousands of fans didn't wear white. Fun place.
Agree that place was rocking and surprisingly it got quite when we were on offense and rocked out when the defense was on the field.
You know like you’re supposed to do.
It was a great atmosphere and after all the crap the stadium and the crowd get, it seems like we are finally gaining a home field advantage. 8-1 there now this year

If you stuff your face with your own food and beer just before the game, you are way less likely to pay for the overpriced concessions inside the stadium. You decide why you think tailgating might be discouraged by some venues.

The loud you talk about suprised me. Because tweets by people there, and what we heard on tv was more subdued. maybe fox does this on purpose now so people are forced to listen to buck and aikman. Never once did buck and aikman say this crowd was loud either. Great to hear the crowd was rowdy tho.

Cowboys zone is not the consensus on the Cowboys fan base. Dont need to go to a game to see Dak is widely popular because basically his and elliots jerseys are some of the top sellers in the nfl.

I was annoyed too at the fans who either weren't wearing white or any kind of gear. My previous experiences at ATT did not leave me with a very positive impression of the fans attending these games. Lots of folks wearing no cowboy gear and on their phones. Lots of opposing fans. But this was different. I met cowboy fans from all over the country who made the decision to travel and support the team.

The thing that was really cool was that as fans were exiting the stadium, taking the escalators down, etc., they were every bit as loud as they were while the game was going on. Never experienced that before. Tons of pent up frustration took a while to release, lol.

The group in front of us flew his whole extended family (about 15 total) in from California. Had a blast with them the whole game.

Most of the tailgaters I spoke to did not have tickets to the game. Not everyone can afford to buy seats on the secondary market where the real price gouging occurs. But they are very spirited cowboy fans who just want to be a part of the event. I don't see how that is a bad thing for the team. They add to the festive atmosphere.

Well it’s not like I’m some genius. It took me about 3 games there before I stumbled onto it.

I was wondering how ATT could leave folks in such a lurch at their sponsored stadium. So, its nice to know for next time. But, Even outside the stadium you couldn't use apps or text. We stayed at the Sheraton so we could walk (about a mile), and I still couldn't do much on my phone even that far away. Not sure what folks with ATT wireless did if they were trying for an Uber ride.
