Sounds to me like the kid may be dealing with some mental health issues. Maybe depression. I hope everything works out for him.

Dont know where you got your info from but that is incorrect.
However, a study published in The Economic Journal in June 2017 by Gavrilova, Kamada, and Zoutman, reported a 12.5% decrease in violent crime (including murder, aggravated assaults, and robberies) in counties close to the Mexican border
A study by economist Davide Dragone was published in the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and focused on the difference in crime rates between the states of Washington and Oregon in 2013 and 2014. Marijuana was legal in Washington by that stage, but illegal in neighboring Oregon.

The results were pretty eye-opening. First of all, Washington state reported a reduction in rapes and property crimes in 2013-2014 relative to the three years before legalization. Remarkably, the study also discovered that Washington’s rape and property crime rate was lower than in Oregon in 2013 and 2014! Rapes were reduced by 15-30%, and thefts were cut by 10-20%. Another interesting ‘side effect’ was a reduction in binge alcohol drinking.
Also can show the Data from 2016 Mitchell Morrissey, the Denver District Attorney, which claimed that cannabis was the cause of a crime increase in the state of Colorado was manipulation MBNC also did a report on it.
To say that the NFL should not revise that is asinine how can you say its ok to drink alcohol because its legal but you cannot smoke pot because you have been given a medical prescription for it and it is legal or its in a state where it is legal. Do you remember prohibition this was the same theory people had when it came to legalizing it.

The question that still remains is why are the Cowboys listing him on the injury report with an ankle sprain? And if he is unwilling to rehab his ankle then why not put him on IR or cut him altogether? There is still more to this than is being reported. What are the Cowboys doing?

He is an UFA though. Gregory got suspended his second year on, during a 4 year ELC.

Jerry may give him another chance but we'll see how the offseason goes.

Have a feeling more could be leaked during the offseason if he doesn't re-sign.
Yeah I would say if he isn’t resigned it’s because he is done in the NFL.

from the link:

FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle David Irving has missed "multiple'' mandatory drug tests in the last two months, sources tell me, putting in jeopardy not only any chance he has of participating with this team during the NFL Playoffs but also his chance of playing in the league anytime soon.

Irving's off-field life continues to be plagued by legal turmoil largely related to conflict with his ex-girlfriend, with whom he shares a young daughter. And his on-field efforts have been marred in part by a high ankle sprain he sustained in practice on Nov. 2. But since incurring that injury, Irving has rarely shown up for work here inside The Star -- not only missing participation in practices, but also declining to attend practice as an observer, declining to attend meetings or watch film, and declining to accept rehab help with the ankle and encouragement to stay active in the weight room.

"He's just sort of checked out,'' one person close to the situation tells me.

Waste of talent...

Irving has too much stuff going on off the field with his family issues and maybe his own mental health that I can't see his NFL career lasting too much longer.

The Cowboys were able to work out things with Randy Gregory because he is clearly a good person that had a bad problem. With proper help for Randy and plenty of patience on Dallas' end, it looks like he's on track for a great career after all.

But the difference between the two, for me anyway, is that Gregory loves the game of football and Irving just doesn't seem to care.

I dont see it as being spiteful or petty. The way I look at it yes he has problems I get it but he has let his team down his brothers who have tried to stand by him have tried to reach out to him. He has refused to come and rehab refused to come to meetings watch film even call his brothers or coaches back that have reached out to him. He is not doing anything to help himself or his daughter who he claims he is fighting for. Not going for his drug test is not being a responsible Parent or Team mate. He has not only let his team and brothers down he is letting his daughter down. The guys that have been playing hard playing hurt they are the ones that deserve a ring give his spot to someone who truly wants to be there. he dont?
Yes, what what has he done to you to make you so spiteful? And what do you really know about his situation to make you so sure?

The curious case of David Irving.

For the record, I am in the group of - you dont want to be here, be part of this team/ group of men. F you, take your *** down the road. He has had more chances, more screw ups than Gregory, and Gregory wanted it. This *** hat has wasted his talent and the Cowboys belief in him. This has gone on far too long, we are not trading him for a roast beef sandwich or anything, once the new year starts he will just quietly be released.
The curious part is, why have the Cowboys continued to keep him on the active roster for so long ? If he has shut himself off from the players and organisation, then what are they doing ?
My theory - by playing the passive role in this, will the Cowboys go after his money after he is released ?
The no comments, hes injured, hasen't reported. He has burnt the club repeatedly with 2 years of suspensions. No shows and all his drama.
But still seams crazy that they have kept an open roster spot for him. Esp. Now we are on this run, that spot would have been very useful !
Understand he has issues, but just let him go, no fuss no big deal and move on.
Yes it's a shame, yes it's a waste - but, yes it's his stupidity.
Bye bye fallecia.
My guess is that Jerry wanted him on the roster so Irving would continue getting paid. He has a soft spot for guys like this.

He has been paid for this year. He will become a UFA and will be suspended if any team signs him. Probably a year long suspension

Seen his story a million times. Fact is, many NFL guys get that big initial paycheck and just checkout. Failing to appreciate the future they could have. A few million and they think they're set and throw in the towel. Irving appears to be just another of those. Sad, as he had such a great future in front of him.

If he had taken care of business. his next contract would have guaranteed him multiples of his career earnings to this point.

I find it hard to understand how a guy can't suck it up for a year to get that windfall.

If there was anything more Fisher would report it. He's all over everything.

In fact, if you cough up the 10 bucks a month you'll find out what drugs he's taking (including dosage) as well as audio of several of his arguments with his girlfriend.

I the cat doesn't want to play - I don't want him playing. It's a damn hard game when you have drive, desire and effort. It's impossible when you don't.

Kid's gonna find his "personal problems" will be much worse when he's making $40K a year.

Hard to even make 40k a year when you don’t bother showing up for work.

There goes that 7th round comp pick.
Commanders will sign him right before TC, like they picked up Foster. Only for them to never play a down for them.
Good. The more dough the Skins blow on guys who’ll never play the less they have to sign decent players to compete against the Cowboys.
