Loved his perspective on the "Star" too. When he was mentoring Dez the young 88 told Irvin that he'd do his jersey proud. Irvin told Dez, "That's not my jersey, that's Mr. Pearson's number."

Thank you for sharing this...
Just love all the the 88s!
Yes, I even liked Antonio Bryant.

And now FINALLY...Even Gregory is trying to represent Mr. Wares number as well!

I've heard it told that Irvin was the absolute heart and soul of the 90s's teams. Said he'd show up for practice hung over or not feeling his best, (for some reason), and regardless of how rough he'd had it ... he'd begin screaming, "Alright! Who's gonna out work me today!

And Aikman said no one ever did.

I dunno, TBH much of it was the 90's stuff. But then I see some of the same old allegations within the past few years. (Drugs, women). I do understand that accusations don't necessarily equal guilt. But when it's consistent with past patterns it seems easier to believe

Also one time I saw him at soldier Field when they were there for TNF Cowboys/Bears. After the pregame show he was being hustled through the crowd from the stage. Tons of diehard Cowboys fans (including kids) begging for handshake, quick picture, etc. He ignored them all and his entourage shoved through the crowd like a plow.

But then some stacked chick walked up and called his name and he immediately stopped, hugged her, posed for pictures, etc.

Then continued on and ignored everyone else.

Now admittedly this chick was attractive. So I get that. And I can even see him brushing past grown men, to some extent, if he was rushed. But kids?

Had no time for kids in Cowboys jerseys, but tons of time for some pin up model.

It kind of disappointed me tbh. Not trying to be judgmental. Just relating a personal experience that left me less than impressed.

Again, unbelievable football player. Have nothing but respect and awe for Michael Irvin the player

But as a person, I think he left ( and continues to leave) a lot of meat on the bone, as they say

Not trying to offend you, hope it doesn't appear that way.

Speaking of kids - do you remember the where Bradshaw bulldozed the 11-year old kid after a Pittsburgh win? It was bad. It used to show on film clips for many years after it happened.

I love Mike also. I am debating on wearing my Irvin 1994 throw back jersey, or me Zeke 21 tomorrow????

Rice was good no doubt but he played longer and played in an offense that was for him. Irvin was in a dominating run team and played way much less seasons that Rice. Stop looking at stats, Irvin as a player was the best receiver to ever play in the NFL. Nothing against Rice but he just wasn't better than Irvin
I am a HUGE Cowboys fan, and Mike is on my top 3 or 4 athletes of all time, forget just football player.... but there is ZERO doubt on who the greatest WR of all time is. If you dont know Rice was the greatest, you are just too young to have watched the games. Jerry was simply amazing... every week.

And before I forget, Mr Ware had borrowed that jersey from the original 94, Mr. Haley. So, theres that number continuation also.

Go with zeke would be my normal response

But the more I think about it, that 1994 jersey is the Double Star jersey isn't it?

I love that jersey

Go with that one. Avenge the horrible missed PI that Deion got away with

I've heard that Emmitt can be a jerk....I still remember back when some Texas Sports Association wanted to honor him back around 2000, and he wanted an appearance fee. Then he found out that it was a big deal to be asked, and he did a 180....not sure if it ever happened.

I hope victory is confirmed because I had the worst dream

We were up by 2 points with 2 minutes left and just got an interception at our own 35 and got the ball back on 1st and ten

Prescott on first and 10 dives over the line for whatever reason the ball pops out and the d recovers and I started using words I didn’t even know existed

You had me until you referred to the playmaker as a “class act”

Great player? Absolutely and undeniably
Unabashed Cowboys Homer? For sure
Deserving Hall of Famer? Without hesitation

Class act?
Not in a million years. Class acts do not stab team mates with scissors. Class acts are not found in a hotel room with an abundance of Coke and hookers while their wife is sitting at home with the kids.
And you are certainly no class act either. You have to crap on every positive thread here.
