Like I said, this comes back to a failure in the coaching staff. I hope they can get a good OC this offseason with someone that can fix Dak's issues. If not this will be the story every year.

Good post, Dak had some bad throws and he usually does but so did Goff. Dak was good enough to win.

Our DL got crushed and that was it.

Linehan has to go but we knew that before the playoffs started.

Not true, I believed this defense was capable of great things. I saw what we did to the Saints and we were tough as hell against the number one running offense last week so yeah, I figured 22 points might get it done. I figured we were up there with Philly and Chicago on defense. I was wrong.
SMH. You point out what they did against the saints and yet our offense put up 13 points. You simply can't "bank" on one side of your game to get the job done ALL the time. At one point or another this offense had to step up and they didn't. Terrible red zone offense and bottom third ranked offense as a whole.

Rams scored their average points per game .

Cowboys scored their average points per game .

Game over .

Also , Congrats to Jason Garrett ! He is now the longest tenured NFL head coach who has not reached a conference title game.

Breaking Records !

Maybe if the offense didn't keep going 3 and out they would have been more fresh to get that stop?!?!
Giving up 11 and 16 plays drives to start the game was not gonna help their cause or keep them "fresh" or letting them score on every drive in the 1st half, well except the last one when time ran out, but still got a FG attempt. They couldn't get themselves off the field. Forcing more than 1 punt, that finally came in the second half is on them. Not giving up almost 300 yards running would have helped keep them fresh. They created their own hell with their lack of stops.

Its not just being irritated about a playoff loss. Its that we seem to say the same thing every year. Moral victory after moral victory, yet we still win nothing. With some better coaches we would have maybe won somethings that past 10-15 years.

Its upsetting to watch this team waste talent year after year.

Listen Cowboys Nation, I know everyone is irritated , annoyed, pissed off, ETC.

But I see a bunch of ridiculousness. The fact of the matter is... this team just got rolled over. If you paid attention I said TEAM. Coaching and players.

If I were to put an assessment on this game, I would put more of the failings upon the coaching staff. Yes I will give Garrett credit. He was gutsy, took risks. Went for it on fourth down when needed. I will give him that.

The coordinators.. now that's a different story.
Sure you can blame the defense for giving up over 250 yards rushing. Guess what they were on the field for over 36 minutes of the game. Oh, they also played nickel for most the game. I love Kris Richard but he played nickel way too much. Jared Goff had a 53% completion percentage and 186 yards. How about playing more base, stopping the run and forcing Goff to beat you from the pocket. At least I could live with Goff beating us.

As for Scott Linehan, you have to go my man. If you are a coordinator in the NFL, and are simply stubborn enough to say, "this is what we do and we will line up and try to beat you every game," then you are not good sir. Look at Sean McVay he ran a jet sweep motion maybe 7-10 times throughout the game. He was patient enough to let that work until he needed it (Robert woods jet sweep). I simply do not believe Scott Linehan "schemed" anything in particular for this rams defense. That is flat out embarrassing.

Dak Prescott is not the future of the cowboys. Say what you want about his "leadership, toughness, intangibles" whatever. All that is just fluffer in my mind. The guy is inaccurate, he does not anticipate, and after 3 years in the league he still has some of the worst footwork in the NFL. You know what "leadership" is??? Leadership is a damn baller. Leadership is Aaron Rodgers. You think anyone likes Aaron Rodgers off the field? Hell no. He's a weirdo, but guess what he gets it done. The cowboys will extend Dak, and the cowboys will be in purgatory until he fixes his issues.

The definition of insanity is to doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. That is the definition of the Cowboys. The NFL is a diverse league. Different players, different coaches, different schemes. In order
To succeed you must be able to scheme and game plan accordingly. That is not what happened tonight. The cowboys are good enough to "do what they do" and make the playoffs. But as you can see they will never make a deep run if they continue to "do what they do."

My point is, everyone on this forum will point out the obvious without putting anything into context. Sure blame the defense, without pointing out they were on the field for over 36 minutes. Sure blame zeke, when he didn't have any running lanes, any special schemes runs.

Let's give blame to the real problem. Coaching is very important in this league. The cowboys have a very talented roster but without coaching it is mush. The point of coaching is to put your players in the best possible position to succeed, and they simply didn't do that tonight.

The Dallas Cowboys got beat at there own game by a team that I think, position to position isn't better than them. If you go position by position, talent for talent I don't think the Rams are better than the cowboys. If they are, it's not by much.

Like I said, this comes back to a failure in the coaching staff. I hope they can get a good OC this offseason with someone that can fix Dak's issues. If not this will be the story every year.
A “pump the brakes” thread (loser’s bracket) by any other name. Lemme simplify your OP for ya...

“It’s not that bad.”

“It coulda been worse.”

“Wait’ll next year”

Etc, etc, etcetera...

Maybe the defense was on the field so much because they couldn't get but one stop?!?!

Yeah of course the offense could've been better but its not really the offenses fault the defense got gashed the entire game.

Well if the offense could have converted a couple of 3rd downs and allowed the defense to watch a little from the sidelines then then maybe we only get smashed instead of crushed...

Smh again we lost because THE DEFENSE FORCED ONE PUNT and was GASHED for nearly 300 yds. Dont give me the excuse they were tired because they played the same trashy way the entire game!

I dont deny we needed more from the offense but defense was our calling card and they crapped the bed period. You cant tell me we force one punt and you think wed win?

I'm more feeling like... Same old, same old. Lol, can't even get riled up anymore because I pretty much expect it. I really expected the Cowboys to get outplayed and out coached and that's exactly what happened. It's too bad as this team shows a lot t of heart and does have alot of talent, just no solid direction/coaching. Imagine if McVey was coaching Dallas, they certainly wouldn't have looked like they were stuck in the 90's

I agree the offense needed to be better but even at that every single time they got the ball the rams handed us our behinds. We were never gonna win a shoot out. Everyone watching this year already knew that. It was defense or bust and we busted.

You are who I am talking about. You give me statistic after statistic with no context at all! What do the cowboys do?!!! Why is there defense good? because the offense controls time of possession, and keeps the d fresh, they keep the pass rushers ready to go. They didn't do that. Don't blame me, that is the cowboy way. You can't argue that.

Why is everyone content that the Rams reached their scoring average ?

Load up the box and force Goff to beat you with his arm , straight up , which would have rendered play-action meaningless...........................Had the defense played marginally better , they could have actually won the game.........................
