This looks like a very real contract, I wouldn't be shocked to see something slightly bigger. Fans won't like hearing it, but he will be getting 20mil plus a year.

Maybe, but it may not be from the Cowboys.

That's too big of a piece of the pie, IMO.

Just like Dak and Coop you have to take 3 things into consideration. They are the best we have at those positions. We cannot replace them. This is Jerry, he will overpay.

Dak and Amari aren't due a new contract until after next season. I'll worry about the size of their piece of the pie next year. Until then, they have another season together to prove they are worth it. And you are wrong about Tank not being replaceable.

Dak and cooper will both be signed this offseason

Last two years:

Sacks:
DLAW: 25
Miller: 25
Mack: 23

TFL:
DLAW: 29
Miller: 31
Mack: 23

QB Hits:
DLAW: 49
Miller: 49
Mack: 40

Forced Fumbles:
DLAW: 6
Miller: 6
Mack: 7

Elite.
Dlaw drops off the 2nd half of the season the last 2 years. Actually he drops off after week 4. Half his sacks the last 2 seasons have camein the first 4 games. So braking it down by halfs actually helps dlaw. Lol

His numbers compare favorably to Miller because he's also dropped off the past 2 season's in the 2nd half. But dlaw isn't in the same conversation as Mack. Macks numbers get better the 2nd half of the season

With the drop in production in the 2nd half of the past 2 season's, suspension, back and shoulder, I wouldn't give that much. Id tag him non exclusive and let other teams bid on him. If they pay him that then take the 2 firsts and be done with it. Go out and sign two vets for what you were going to have to pay him. Use the money on a TE/DT or TE/S or S/DT or many other combinations of 2 players we could use. Plus you have a 1st this year since we gave one for Cooper and well have a extra next year.

Signing Cooper will actually drop his cap hit this year

I think in the case of Dak there are a few things going for the Cowboys that help get his deal over the line. Firstly his endorsement deals at Dallas are going to be way more than most other teams. Secondly Texas has no state tax, and thirdly he has a good relationship with the team and front office.

I don’t think he takes a huge discount but if it’s reasonable you got to think he goes with Dallas.

What does that mean?
That if theoretically Jerry wants to give him 200 million dollars but alot is in bonus, it wouldn’t impact the salary cap number as much as one would think.

That’s how Jerry and Stephen have often manipulated the cap. Give some guaranteed money which comes out of their pocket but doesn’t necessarily impact the ability to sign other players which is all fans should care about.

It’s more detailed than that but I don’t have the exact specifics on how workout bonuses relate to counted cap space.

There’s a good article here.

You think people are mad now, wait till they see what Coop and Dak get.
Exactly.

I previously stated that people were on cloud cookoo land if they think we will keep all of our pieces over the next few years if they offer Dak a long term contract which will be near £30 million a year.

It's just a question of who we will lose as a result.

The two teams that made the Superbowl had a QB on a rookie contract and one of the greatest of all time earning £15 million a year - i.e. they could feed the geese in other areas on their roster. As soon as we sign Prescott to a long term deal the roster will be knee capped. Even if he was a very good QB I would state the same - it's all about having a good QB on a rookie deal these days. Brady/Patriots are in a unique situation.
