Along with some posters that claimed he was basically stupid too, not bright enough to call plays for us......

I have always wondered if some were down on Smith simply because he went to ND. ND often causes this visceral bitterness in some fans that carries over to players from there.

Good info man. I am from Toronto so I dont understand the hatred within college football. lol

Good for, Jaylon. Not only does his having a good head on his shoulders benefit us in the coming years, but it'll benefit him in the long run as well.

I wish I could of finished my undergrad as a millionaire.

Zero financial related stress while being a full time student even for 1 semester. JS is probably living really nice close to campus.

Tough to retire on 1 million.

At 4 percent return, its only 40k a year. Then throw in your taxes, etc.

He's smart to get that degree.

As a Notre Dame fanatic, loved when they recruited him; LOVED him as a player/leader on the team, cried a little (I can admit that - SO WHAT?) when they drafted him and texted everyone I know....and this just solidifies the type of person that he is - he doesn't NEED to get this degree, but I bet somewhere along the line he told coach "I'm leaving, but I promise I will get my degree..."

amongst my favorite players EVER

He's just going to be scouting the campus honeys...

Just imagine how fun that'd be!

Return to campus as a total super-star! Just walking around campus, dolling out the high-fives while simultaneously beating off girls by the hundreds with a long, pointed stick!!!

Have fun!!

Excellent. An education always lasts longer than the temporary fame of pro football. An education can open doors not previously available. More importantly, an education is one of the few things in life than can never be taken away.

Dementia will handle it.

He didn’t claim it was. He said they had a pretty good defense last year, and they clearly did. You can’t argue that 14th out of 130 isn’t pretty good.

Imo they were not a good defense.
