Jake, I addressed some of this up above but I've spent a lot of my life around wealthy people, I am not wealthy but by circumstance have found myself around them. And some are self-made, not family money which are really the worst ones, but many are unfulfilled. I used to think you get that kind of money, life's a smooth highway but for some it's a rough road. This is just a reminder of the dysfunction within the Dallas Cowboys. People who think proven NFL head coaches are lining up to be the next guy working under old Jerry's thumb are kidding themselves. Rather than fire the HC he obviously has lost faith in, Jerry chooses to micromanage in the desperate attempt to prove he made the right choice. Another example of being the reason the Cowboys win is more important to JJ than winning any other way.
It's kind of pathetic that a man so successful in business needs to feed his ego at the expense of his team. Strange, really. JJ shouldn't believe he has anything left to prove in life but he continues to act as though he feels otherwise. I'm not holding my breath that his latest decisions will lead to any more success than all of the others he's made the last 20+ years because he refuses to address the root of the problem...himself.
For some really wealthy people, it's like an eating disorder. They look in the mirror and don't like what they see and all the warts are magnified. They are outwardly wildly successful, as Booger is, but inside there is a hole that money cannot fill.
Booger is an interesting study. Got all the dough he can spend but he is driven to try and impress people like that boat. How many billionaires own one yet we have no idea of the value? He was actually affected health wise when Parcells made him take a back seat and he could no longer be a "celebrity". So hungry was he for the camera and mic that people in the office worried about his mental state, according to Broaddus.
I would have no problem at all if he finally did what he wants to do, coach. He's wanted that for so long, go for it. He's a positive kind of guy and his players seem to like him, all he would need is a good staff around him, which is all any of them need. Landry's, Parcells and Johnson's staffs were just as important as they were in their success and maybe why the last two couldn't recreate magic without them. Today's HC's are more admin guys than hands on guys anyway.
