FIFY!
Failure runs in three's
1) Sucked at QB
2) Sucked at QB coaching
3) ?
What does his talent as a player have to do with his coaching (history proves that success as a player is not necessary to having success as a coach), and how in foe world would you have a clue about him as QB coach? Truth is none of us know that.

Cant believe 6 pages about the kid doing a commercial for a home town dealership . Shows how sad this forum really is .

When will you all learn its Jerrys hobby to take the most unlikely looking candidates and try to make them stars to show his football genius.

Sure the kid has no experience and if I had a choice I would have gone with a proven offensive mind but Linehan had experience ALL BAD LOL

Cant judge a book by the cover , Let it play out . Like we have a choice anyway LOLOL

It is a locally run commercial for the state of Idaho.
Kellen Moore went to Boise St. (which is in Idaho).
His college record was 50-3. He's basically a "local legend".
Everyone there knows who he is.

Personally, I think it's funny.
I'm with you, this is just funny.

Glad to see he can poke fun of himself.

Edit: at least he is not tweeting about rap music.

When was he a disappointment before? Were you expecting anything special from him as a player? 3rd string was the best he ever was, and there wasn’t really anyone touting him as more than that.

Pretty much. Just frustrating that next year likely is a wasted year...

Why would you have expected a QB off the Lions practice squad to be special? It’s seems your disappointment in him as a player was based on an unrealistic expectation.

Moore’s ability to coach has nothing to do with that anyway.

Why is next year a wasted year? We were 10-6 this year, won the diviosion and won a playoff game. We all want to go further than that, but at a minimum why can’t we do at least that well?

Something is wrong with you. You seriously have way too much time on your hands if this bothers you

Settle down, son. All I was saying is if you’re trying to cultivate an image as a serious OC/potential head coach, it’s not the best look. I live in Boise and went to all of Moore’s home games in college, and think he’s great. Just saying that if I were his agent, I would have just picked a different commercial for him.

You’re pretty alone on this. Most people know TV commercials are just plugging a product and not a reflection of a persons abilty to function in their primary job, and that humor is very often used in commercials. Plus, do fans really expect their OC to be a humorless robot? Is a humorless robot what we would expect to add creativity to our offense?

Like I said in an earlier post, I’ve not seen Bellichick, Payton, McVay, or even an OC like McDaniels do goofy stuff like this. I know the commercial is not a reflection of his abilities to function in his job, but to me, when you are 29 years old and trying to be taken seriously and break into the fraternity of high level NFL coaches, image is important.

And, like I said in response to that, you aren’t remotely talking apples to apples. Those guys are head coaches making $7-8 million a year, and don’t need to supplement their incomes, and if they chose to do endorsements could have their pick of any number of them. Moore is a QB coach who just got promoted to OC and hasn’t made a ton of money and who has had no name recognition that would make him desirable in ad campaigns outside of Boise, Idaho.

Besides, if you know this has no affect on his abilty to do his job, why would you think football teams wouldn’t know it as well?

How do you know McDaniels doesn’t do this goofy stuff? Or at least wouldn’t if he had the same star power in his college town Moore has in his? Do you think Pats fans know or care Moore did?

In our society the President does skits on Saturday Night Live without losing credibility, and we should be worried about a QB coach turned OC doing a commercial in Boise?

I have seen several.

Apparently, they are lacking for star power in the Boise area and he is as close as it gets.

If you have ever lived or even been there for an extended period of time, you would understand.
Lived there for 3 years and it was my favorite place of the 9 places I have lived, including Dallas. A vibrant downtown like some of us grew up with? Nah, who would want that? Four real seasons? Nah, who would want that? Skiing and white water rafting less that an hour from town? Nah, who would want that? One of the top 5 acoustically perfect concert halls in the US? Nah, who would want that? Fly fishing in downtown Boise at lunch time and after work? Nah, who would want that? Topography that can take your breath away within an hour's drive? Nah, who would want that? A blue football field? Why in the hell would anyone want that?

Just curious, how do you know what they did just starting out and when Belichick started coaching wasn't the high paying profession it is today. Maybe they weren't given the opportunity Moore was and none of those guys you mentioned are considered the hometown hero he is and Boise St players are treated with a lot of affection and respect in Boise. They are proud that they come to play for them.

BTW, two of those coaches you listed have been suspended and their teams punished for their actions and another backed out on a job at the 11th hour. Yep, great models for comparison.

Moore seems like a good and decent man and his involvement with child abuse is well known. He has volunteered his time for endorsing and promoting worthy causes.

Hell, we get someone new on the job with some REAL questions about how he's going to do and he's not into the job a week when his boss puts him in virgin territory for a coach and we dig up ads he's done for a car dealer to rag on him?

He is new and will probably have some growing pains and he doesn't have the best structure in place for the learning curve in this job with so little experience but there is no Cowboy I am rooting harder for than this young man. And no coach, except maybe his HC, is going to be in the bright lights more than him. Tough job made tougher by his owner.

Who said I'm disappointed in him. I think he was a poor hire as a QB coach and will be the same as an OC. This hire is Jones thinking he has the next young offensive mind...like McVay for the Rams. Not happening. This team is stuck in the 90's with JG and RM still here...

Im a supporter of Moore as OC, but this local Boise car commercial is something his agent should not have allowed. Doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

Your confidence level in an offensive coordinator is influenced by a 30 second TV commercial in Boise?
