Absolutely right, and I'm glad that the risk-taking is gone. Give me solid players like Awuzie and Conner Williams over all or nothing risks like Gregory and Jaylon Smith, that don;t pan out for years, if at all.

Yes, an impulsive, poorly thought-out gamble, exacerbated by injury and scheme change.

Much less the absolute worst one in the entire group. He'll always be the guy we drafted instead of Jason Kelce.

Ouch and double-ouch. Who uses a 1st round pick on a part-time running back? Just the thought process involved in that is insane.

Those that you have brought up are all well in the rear view mirror. Taco Charlton is the best example of a recent draft mistake. And I'm putting that one on Marinelli more than Jerry, though it's his fault for listening to him.
Was Taco a mistake or a pick that didn't work out?

Why do so many still think Jerry is still making personnel decisions? It's Stephen with valued input from mcclay.
That’s not something we can officially confirm. And Jerry certainly isn’t going to admit he’s not making the final decision.

It’s always been about influencing Jerry attempting to convince him to go against his instincts.

We’ve seen Jerry make better decisions over the years with greater influence. Actually we can pinpoint the better personnel decisions 3 times in Jerry era. With Jimmy, Bill and Jason.

I'd call it a mistake, because there was a better player starting them in the face and the said No.
Better according to whom? Taco had a 1st round rating most of what I saw.

I didn't care for the pick either. My problem was that he was being draft strictly on upside, and was not NFL ready. I don't like picks based mostly on upside. Yes, all picks are based on upside to some degree, but some more than others, definitely.

You'd have to show me "what you saw" then.

My issue was prototype vs production. A guy drafted because of his physical measurements rather than on field accomplishments.

It would depend on their history.

The only reason I responded initially is you said the risk taking was a thing of the past.

And your level of butthurt.

You prove my point with every post. Nothing Jerry Jones can ever do will be "right" with you. You've set it up in your mind to where he can't win.

That's a shame.

That’s not true. I said he did win with this risk.

I’m usually one of the first to credit Jerry. I said from the beginning this would be a great deal if it sparked our offense propelling us to the playoffs.

Again though my point is Jerry’s risk making isn’t over. This deal is a great example. That’s not necessarily meant to be a negative.

That's OK, I didn't like the pick either. I don't like project picks in the 1st.

That's certainly how it comes across. You paint a picture where Jerry can't win, even when he clearly does.

I knew TJ Watt was the better player then, and it's only reinforced now. And that's frustrating.

Cry some more about it then, since it's obvious that you can't handle anyone talking about it. Your issue, not anybody else's. Some people just aren't mature enough to be able to talk about everything to do with the Cowboys and have to just cherry pick the good stuff.
Living in the past is an issue I cant help you with, being pessimist and only concentrating on the negative all are things a good Therapist can..

we are not your therapist, we are simply fans of team we prefer to root for then constantly dig up ways tp complain about it..

you might want to start Therapy before the rumors of Dak getting that 6year 160 mil 65mil guaranteed contract, god help the people around you and the public when this happens..

Seek help lol:oldcouple:

And avoidance of anything unpleasant is something you should speak to yours about. There's obviously a huge weakness for you there. Likely from all of those participation trophies you needed to get.

There is no "we", there is you. A kid who can't accept anything that isn't sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows.

You and your fragile sensibilities first kid. Life isn't a bed of roses, maybe you need to learn that, instead of trying to practice avoidance of anything that might be unpleasant.

Kid im 49 bro im no participation trophy guy I played all kinds of real sports in my day and still wakeboard and snowboard pretty damn well for 49, have had 4 knees surgery 3 in 2016 and a new ACL in October and will get back to flipping by July, so im no candy azz snowflake bro!! I get up everyday and work hard , real physical work and I dont give up until things are done..your view of me as sports fan has zero to do with real life..this is E-sports brah..you take it way to personally..

I am however a realist and not happy person in real life, ill complain about things when they need complaining, real stuff and yes even football while in season and as the games are happening , im yelling at the screen and complaining plenty on bad calls, bad plays, throwing hats and jerseys , and the such BUT I AM NOT GOING TO KEEP DWELLING ON CRAP THAT HAPPENED 20-30 YEARS AGI..I CHOOSE TO LIVE MORE IN THE MOMENT OR THE FURTURE AND AS SPORTS GO , you cant let these things go so deep as to be negative..its life's distraction, entertainment and it can be frustrating for sure when your teams arent doing well but that doesnt mean you have to live 90% in ***** mode..But truly as fan you should be closer to 50 50 with views on teams you are supposed to be rooting for , there are some in here that are 90% NEG and 10% fan..thats sounds like a competitors fan not ours..

lastly we all who are old enough remember the glory days but also remember the worst years as well especially 1997-2004 was pretty horrible and we dont need reminders, and for sure it has zero to do with todays team..really 10years ago is to far back to judge todays team.. this was rebooted in 2016 and thats how I will judge this group..they have time to get it done..

So, you just act like you're a teenager, got it "brah".

There's your issue "brah", thinking that you have the right to tell anyone else what they should be doing. You don't. You think you even know what "50-50" is, or should be. Newsflash to you and your ignorance, you don't. You get to decide for exactly one person - you.

You proclaim to not be "dwelling on crap that happened 20 years ago", and yet, here you are, continuing to post in a thread about it? I guess that fact escaped you as well? Seems to be a pattern, and a whole mountain of stuff that you don't realize.

I gave more than fair warning of what I was talking about in this thread, starting with the thread headline, and then several times at the very beginning. If you couldn't handle it - and you clearly can't - you could have and should have avoided it then. But given that it's had 9 pages of comments, other people actually did want to talk about it and were mature enough to handle an unpleasant subject. If you can't, that's your weakness.

But neither you, nor anyone else, gets to dictate what fan can and can't talk about. Get over yourself and go buy a clue.
