Lol

If you look at the overall body of work and not just cherry pick the two minor things Dak had..yes. He was absolutely more productive and efficient.

As far as Kirk "choking"..that's a subjective opinion that I'm sure you aren't biased about at all..based on your user name here. Lol

What about all the facts that despite Kirk being so superior, he has never won anything and his team got worse when he joined them?

Kirk Cousins is an average QB at best. He certainly isn’t any superior to Dak.

Dak is also far better than Kirk in clutch situations. Look up the stats in close games in the 4th quarter/overtime between the two. It’s not subjective that Dak performs better in those circumstances. It’s a fact

Kirk had a better TD to INT ratio and threw for 400 more yards and had a better passer rating..before you come back and say I'm not using any stats or logic again. Lol

His TD/Int ratio was only superior if you ignore the rushing TD’s. Which I’m sure you like to subjectively ignore.

I think a deal will get done. I just believe he hired this agent for a reason. That means everything is on the table. Dak is in a unique situation. He is making peanuts and has been the best bargain in the NFL since he came in the league. He has lots of power in this situation.

Unless he owns major STOCKS in Power companies cause his game play has very little power to speak of.....Dak Prescott is the Enron of NFL QB.......:omg:

it might surprise you but not everyone's life revolves around making the most money sometimes there are trade-offs people aren't willing to make and by the way if making the most money is your number one priority then maybe you should re-evaluate those priorities

Yes you are right. There are some companies that one may not want to work for that may offer more money because of things that company has done, but by and large MOST people if there aren't any negatives or major negatives between 2 companies will select the one that pays more. Anyone that doesn't think money is a huge factor in selecting where they work is either naive or still a child. About the only ones that don't worry about the money end of things are the ones that come from wealthy families and those families still or will continue to support those individuals.

Hey -goat, not dissing on Dak here and certainly not propping up Kirk, but you need to include fumbles if you're going to included rushing TDs.

Cousins averages more fumbles than Dak anyway you slice the stats.

I dont really care about Cousins one way or the other. Just saying that the correct way to do it if youre bringing rushing TDs in, is to also include fumbles...especially when talking turnover ratios.
Norhing more or less

Have to say something, you’re incorrect. I’ve skipped opportunities to promote within my job and have actually taken pay cuts to be more happy, money had nothing to do with it so don’t automatically assume everyone wants “to go where they can make the most money”. Several others I know have done the same.

That’s all, carry on.

I just said in another comment that there are some times when money won't get a person to switch. Maybe the company has a bad reputation or in your case taking that promotion may have required you to work longer hours or be away from home more. But by and large most people money is a primary factor in deciding where they work. Example, 2 companies with same reputations, both good and doing the same job and same hours and no difference in driving time, and everything is equal and 1 offers 15% more to work for them, most people will take the pay increase.

Can't agree with you on this one. Best negotiators i've ever known stay silent until the deal is complete. Stating you want to resign a player publicly, with more than a year remaining on his contract isn't the best negotiating tactic. Agents aren't reasonable. Do you really think brady took a cheap deal as benevolence to his team? No. It's because the pats always have a good backup qb waiting in the wings. Something the cowboys haven't had in years.

Cern on this one you're wrong about Brady. He's even admitted that it was easy to give the pats a home team discount on salary ( he did get hefty bonuses which made his annual pay more inline with others) because it allowed them to get other needed players and he has a wife that makes almost as much as he does. I seriously doubt he or his agent feared that whoever was the backup at the time would take his job. Brady's salary form 2018 may have been just 4 mill but his cap hit was 22 mil and for 2018 just a 14 mil salary and a cap hit of 28 mil.

Actually, hours are the same and arguably less work with a little extra responsibility that I would embrace and enjoy but that’s getting off topic. I wasn’t really trying to make a big deal, just saying that’s not always true. Glad you clarified your original comment.

They don't need a discount. He's only expecting to be paid what he deserves.

Bad form to be Coach and GM. They blinked in revealing their intention of extending him and forced their own hand needlessly.
It is only smart to extend a player when you know there is more upside coming and you know that he's the guy. They've decided he's the guy but not everyone is on board with that, including me on my couch. So the question of extending a player that may not be the guy remains a questionable good business decision.

When they do the new deal, figure out what they might have paid by waiting because there is one issue that is not really debatable. Prescott has to have Elliott and Cooper or someone as good and what happens when either of those players isn't in the game? He is not that QB that lifts those around him but needs lifting.

Here's the flaws in that approach. First the Cowboys could have Elliott locked up through the 2020 season by using his 5th year option but lets look at using your approach. With no 1st round pick in the 2019 draft there's no chance of getting one of the few good QB's in a QB poor draft. so if the Cowboys just let Prescott play out his contract then maybe he doesn't resign and then the Cowboys would have to use their #1 pick in the 2020 draft to draft a QB. Now Cooper will be a free agent after next season and if he sees that a rookie QB will be there it may be what makes him to decide to accept contracts from other teams so then they've lost both Prescott and Cooper. Then there's the fact that for the past couple of seasons Smith has had injury problems and what if this continues in 2019 and the Cowboys decide they need a younger LT that isn't getting injured every year and then decide that whoever the QB is if there isn't a good LT it won't make any difference so they decide to use that #1 pick on a LT.

There are lots of variables that you haven't thought about that could have a major impact if the Cowboys don't extend Prescott this off season. Prescott has even said that they will agree on a fair contract for all. Many people think a players agent has the final say so on negotiations and they don't, the player does. I'm sure every player asks what the latest contract offer is and if he wants to play and is happy with it they will sign.

That is what always irks me, so many excuses, when things like that happen to teams all over the NFL. We've seen worse lines around here, and well that's just life in the NFL. You guys make it sound like the cowboys have been the most injury hit team these last two years...

I never said the Cowboys were the most injured team. What I did say is the line 2016 isn't there and all of 2017 and most of 2018 this line was below average when it comes to pass blocking. Now the difference between the 2016 line and now has to do with how the Cowboys handled the loss of Leary and the retirement of Free. Then in 2018 not having their All Pro center for the entire year and their All Pro RG fighting through injuries most of the season played a big part in the decrease in effective pas blocking but wasn't just them. In 2017 there was also a defense that allowed teams to march down the field late in the 4th quarter to take leads that the Cowboys had and then lost games because of that. And those that want to point fingers at Prescott seem to forget the Cowboys made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs this season only to watch what had been a good defense during the season get shredded to bits against the rams. That proves the point that it's a team sport not just a QB sport.

30 million been a number mentioned here on the forums for several months spanning several different threads...

Yes it been mention by USERS here. No sane person with ANY real football experience believes Prescott would demand 30 mil a year or the Cowboys would stop laughing long enough to answer that. It's funny, and yes ha ha funny, how many times a user states something and then another user repeats that and then another user repeats it and then sooner rather than later more and more users start to think it's a real fact. Will a sane person think Prescott would demand 30 mil with just 3 playoff wins, no conference championships and no Super Bowl appearances that would tie Prescott to the 2nd highest paid QB in the league? NO, NOT EVEN CLOSE!

Lot of what if in that as Cooper could be signed long term this off season. If not, if the Cowboys got one of these young guns, already thought by most to be superior to Prescott, he would be happy to stay put as long as they paid him.

I would be 100% in favor of letting Prescott play it out and see what it looks like then and having the option to go after Tua or Herbert, if he wanted to be paid like a Tier 1. It comes down to how good I think he is and can be vs what I already see in the young guns coming up such as those two and Lawrence. I would take those 3 over him without hesitation. However, the run for all 3 of those guys is going to be something we haven't seen in a long time. If Lawrence keeps improving and he's already something else, he could have half the league trying to get him.

To get Tua, Lawrence or Herbert the Cowboys will have to finish 2-14. That is not happening with talent we have. You don't trade these three guys if you have a chance to draft them. I see Arizona, Raiders, and Dolphins getting the big three.
