Don't expect a discount from Dak Prescott

Lot of what if in that as Cooper could be signed long term this off season. If not, if the Cowboys got one of these young guns, already thought by most to be superior to Prescott, he would be happy to stay put as long as they paid him.

I would be 100% in favor of letting Prescott play it out and see what it looks like then and having the option to go after Tua or Herbert, if he wanted to be paid like a Tier 1. It comes down to how good I think he is and can be vs what I already see in the young guns coming up such as those two and Lawrence. I would take those 3 over him without hesitation. However, the run for all 3 of those guys is going to be something we haven't seen in a long time. If Lawrence keeps improving and he's already something else, he could have half the league trying to get him.

And there has never been hot shot QB's in college that turned out to be duds in the NFL. The list is a mile long of QB's drafted as high as #1 who turned out to be busts. Prescott a 4th round pick has played well beyond that round and only users here started this nonsense that Prescott will demand tier 1 money. In fact Prescott was quoted saying he's sure that they will agree on a fair contract for all. People here should stop believing and spreading numbers made up by users here like it's gospel. Also remember the Cowboys don't have a #1 pick this draft so any of those young guns in a QB poor draft won't be around unless your saying next years draft and then there's all the possible problems that I alread mentioned to consider. Prescott's stats just don't equal all the bashing and residency some are saying.

His agent is going to take less then Cousins, Stafford, Alex Smith and Jimmy G? Dak should fire his agent. He hired this guy for a reason. Give me your short term deal numbers.
MY SHORT term deal for dak would look like this: 4 YEARS, at 82mil. TOPS. I would make the 4th year a team option. As far as signing bonus I would front load it to no more than 15 mil. I love Dak...and in a real world, that's the most I personally would pay him. In the NFL WORLD, he's getting more than that. Its the Kirk Cousins affect.

He should agree with that. How much is guaranteed?

Gotta extend Dak THIS offseason. These QB contracts are getting out of control. If we have ANY hope of signing him for less than 30 million per year then it HAS to be THIS offseason. We wait another year and we will be paying 35 million per season possibly. With Frederick back and these receivers another offseason and Linehan and Garrett kicked to the curb, the offense will start humming again.

So he doesn't even have to prove himself, to you, to get nice contract.

3 winning seasons, two playoffs, rookie of the year, two pro bowls all in his first 3 years? Just because you dont get it, doesnt mean others dont. Daks worth has been obvious from the start for me. He has much more to prove, but you dont get the opportunity to wait. Must decide now and for me it's easy. As it appears for Jones.

I dont like the contracts of any of these QB's but that is the going rate.

The guaranteed money would probably be a non starter, don’t you think?
They'd want the first year or more guaranteed...maybe 25 ish

He shouldn't give Jerry a discount. Jerry overpaid Romo, so if I'm Dak I want to be overpaid too.

How many recent Cowboy players have given the team a discount? Why would he give them a discount?

About the only thing you can say about 2017 was that we had a winning record. Not much else to crow about. But at least trolls like you can't say he ever had a losing season.

Another 10 years of Dak, you must be heart:muttley: broken.

just the front loaded bonus part(15mil) for signing, thats it. Everything else is just base salary(league minimum with tons of incentives built in.)

He is not going to agree to take 15 million in guarantees. His agent would never agree to it. I thought you were gonna guarantee 50 million of it. Dak will be the highest paid player on the team. At least per season average.

I hope they're far apart and he, at least, goes through this contract season and he would be better off just keeping his mouth shut about it. Just answer that his agent is working on that.

Most QB's do not get into this discussion because it can be misconstrued and they can actually turn fans against them. And attempting to negotiate through the media isn't a good idea.

I liked this guy when he didn't run his mouth, and I don't care what they ask him, saying things like he wants to be the GOAT DC QB was just stupid.

If he's going to cite Brady, he should add that Brady doesn't pimp himself out to that many sponsors either.

Tom Brady doesn't do commercials. Do you ever watch television? I guess Aaron Rogers also pimps himself out. Wow, I'm sure Michael Jordan regrets pimping himself out to Nike and I guess Peyton Manning is going to stop pimping himself in his commercials. How about criticize Dak for his play and stop all the stupid comparisons.

If you was drafted in the 4th round and companies wanted you to represent their products then you would be making commercials.

Is that the only way your side can operate, call everyone who disagrees with you a troll? Dak just hasn't blown me away this season like he did in 2016. It's weird how his followers can see something different from what I'm seeing, but I'll accept it, without having resorting to name calling and feeling animosity.
