You watch the SB? One bounce away from being the MVP. Guy was great down the stretch for the Broncos.
He was dying with us and we were switching to a 4-3

We did fine without him and his 30m...... only problem was not trading him

I will also say this Smith’s technique has slipped. It is because he is given so many days off and leeway by the coaches? It hurts his performance. Is it he can’t handle the work or does he take advantage of the veteran country club in Dallas.

Its almost like he cant practice anymore. And barely any preseason games. No longer is that continuity and familiarity they used to have with him being in there all the time.

It’s a big problem. Doesn’t get talked about enough. If he can’t practice he needs to go.

Come on man. That 2014 team might have done something special if he was on the team. The lack of pass rush got them beat.

Lets not forget he signed a team friendly deal that probably now only puts him in the top 10 of LT getting paid.

I guess the thinking here is this a not a position to play with. I'm not saying cut or release Smith now or after next season but we're seeing enough red flags it's not a reach to think he can go from missing 3-4 games a year to 6-7 like Lee. But unlike Lee, it's much harder to manipulate Smith absence w/o negatively impacting the offense. So I'm simply saying if there's a chance to draft his potential replacement at 58 I'm all over it. He can swing as a rookie and replace Collins RT 2020. That way I have Collins replacement on board with an eye on Smith.
My point is if I have the same grade a TE, OT, S or WR player at 58, I'm going OT.

Can't remember who but someone said the Eagles actually draft Lane Johnson as their future LT behind Jason Peters.

Get Collins back there at LG and Williams will be playing tackle where he belongs.

With Fred coming back and Loonie being the player he is I'm not worried about upgrades and replacements for this line until after 2019. Get Flemming or someone similar on an equal deal and our o-line is talented with depth.

Love the guy but his career is at a point where we can no longer expect 16 games. As you can see from Spotrac, 2020 is the first year of his deal where can either release him or ask for a pay cut with min dead cap. With that said, if a possible replacement is there at 58, I'd pull the trigger. Hell, with Collins being 2020 free agent, both tackle positions can get interesting after next season.

He's dominates when he is in, misses an average 2 games a year, and his deal is a major bargain... half the player would cost 25% more. His demise is gross exageration!

Dude just had a Pro Bowl season. It wasn't the best in terms of Tyron Smith expectations, but it's damn good for NFL offensive tackle.
Pro bowl is more of a popularity vote. Ive seen too many guys get to the pro bowl on their history not current play.

Too early to estimate where players will be drafted with any amount of accuracy.
That’s true
I’m just looking more at numbers
Who knows what will happen but the numbers are more DT and WR
I wouldn’t mind at OT back to back years
Collins is up for a 3rd contract and the real key to managing the cap is drafting a guy and having him ready to step in. I remember tagging spencer because we couldn’t have that guy to step in. I think they had that thought with Switzer when they took him

He is on the downside of his career. Does it hurt your feelings to discuss that?

Do we need to draft a backup OT, Yes! Should we have a quality swing tackle that can one day take over for Tyron in case of injury or collins if we don't resign him, Yes of course! But there is no way you are trying to build a champion calibre team and also get rid of one of the top OL in the NFL because he will miss 2 games a year. If we end up in a Sean Lee vs Wolf hunter issue next offseason then we can talk. But untill then Tyron isn't going anywhere.

He's a top 10 tackle, he's gonna have to miss some serious time or have a serious decline in the next couple years to "move on".

I have asked others before, I want to see stats, videos, etc. where it shows Smith is on some serious decline to justify threads like this.
also at 10 million a year thats a huge bargain for a top 20 tackle in the league.

LOL. His downside is still better than the 30 other starting LTs in the league.

And dropping. Some people like to plan ahead. Some people like to turn a blind eye until its too late. Based on his injuries he could go at any time.

As could anyone else? Did you make one of these for Fredrick last year? No because it's just dumb. We had a viable backup in Fleming who did a good job when needed same with Looney.
