Lol....Lee would have absolutely ran his little a** over had he just simply blocked him, the problem with the block was bending down for leverage and using the head, if he simply runs through him, there's no issue
I take it you have no idea how a block is made.

Well if the blindside block applies to low tackles I'm all for it. What I don't want to see is this rule to evolve into the next phase of "if the player isn't looking directly at you then you can't make contact with them".

Lol...dude I've been on the field and around football for most of my life. Trust me Tate would've been a speed bump
So have I, don't feel any strange need to brag about it. Tate could've blocked him easily.

One shoulder to the thigh and Lee is blocked. Any Back who has played for any length of time knows this technique, when blocking bigger players with a head of steam. Now, you have to execute it but it is very effective when executed properly.

You can remove the blind side hit if you also do not allow defender to chase the play after they got beat. lol

I don't know, I suppose everybody has their own thing but speaking for myself, the day Football becomes none contact is the day I leave it in my rear view forever. That's not the way the game was designed. I hope I never see that day but if I do, I'll figure something else out to do.

This pretty much kills trap and wham plays. The purpose of the trap or wham block is to sucker a guy in and have him blocked out by a pulling OL.

Too many rules, this used to be a man's game. Below is an interesting video about football in the 1950's. One of the old guys interviewed said today's players are sissies, another old guy said if you got through a game without loosing a tooth or breaking your nose, you weren't trying hard. Lol, today's NFL really has become sissyfied.

I wonder if these were the same guys who were party to the lawsuit against the NFL for concussions, health problems, etc.

Rugby has a ton of safety rules legislated into it and is still a fine sport. There is no reason that football can't be a strong game without descending into bloodsport. If y'all are watching football because you want to see blood, I would say that you're in the minority.

So basically.....

If the defender isn't looking at you, you can't block him.

Great.

Nah, he couldnt, also no brag, letting you know my experience in seeing it happen. To block him you're not coming as hard and you're giving someone much bigger than you the advantage in momentum .

If you take tough out of football, then the game is gone. Might as well rename it PFL, the Pansy Football League. The guys in the 50's played out of love of the game. The QBs had to be as tough as the LBs, no special treatment because they are weak. Today's NFL is all about money and superstars and offense, and 10,000 rules. The everyone gets a trophy generation will destroy the NFL. Just sayin'.
