I think this is where the Marijuana rule will change for medical use. But i think there will be stipulations as meetings and or dr visit reports.

The statements by the cowboys and patriots on Gregory and Gordon are very similar in the way they were put out. Preaching support for the player and mentioning the illness they are suffering from. Both have been and are in treatment facilities. Theres documented proof these guys are sick and this is a natural use to treat the illness.

Me being mexican i know people who boil marijuana and mix the water with alcohol for joint pain and muscle aches. And it works.

In the media there is alot of support for the rule to be changed, in public there is the same support. But i dont agree with the outright change of the rule that allows for these players to be walking around stoned all the time. I think players should be forced to go through a process to be able to use it for medical use. Going to the dr, and going thru a facility to be able to be responsible with it.

With how Jerry and Kraft have spoke about these two players, i think both will be reinstated after spending more time in a treatment center this offseason. Both i think will be on the field week1 too IMO.

I think the NFL will hold onto this as a bargaining chip for the upcoming CBA negotiations, but I hope you’re right.

Just epilepsy and I thought it was for terminal cancer as well but I don’t keep up with it that well (unless it’s federally legalized it’s a no go in my profession).

It’s an old link, cancer was also approved...

This is dumb....no one is saying the NFL has to let these guys walk around stoned all the time....that's not the NFL's job or decision. The NFL just has to stop testing for it, the same way the other sports leagues do....it's common sense. The NFL no longer testing for it does not make it legal for the players, there are still laws in existence. Jesus, how hard is this for people to get?

Marijuana rules, regarding the next CBA negotiations, are simply one more bargaining chip

Question:

If the NFLPA is offered a CBA deal that might result in less combined benefits for all @1,696 (53x32) players, the majority of whom don’t use pot, in exchange for relaxing the rules on marijuana testing/use, which might benefit @100 or so players in any given season, how do you think the majority of NFL players might vote?

I think the owners want it gone themselves but you are probably right, bargaining chip for CBA

Playing a collision sport which plays havoc with your body, joints and brain

The only real short term indicator is pain

Let's let players use a drug to blunt that symptom so they can keep 'playing'

Makes complete sense

Wouldn't matter in Texas, it is not allowed for medicinal use.

Sure it would. If the NFL or teams do not actively test for weed then a player would not be suspended for a failed test. That is totally separate from a player being arrested for doing something illegal.

With marijuana remaining illegal in many states, the NFL needs to stand their ground on the issue. Don't cave in to the idiots like Irving who like smoking dope more than playing football.

The league might be better off without him or his agenda.

It’s a stupid hypocritical law..

It’s “Legal” to take a chemical such as Zoloft with a shrinks prescription but you can’t consume a natural plant that can actually heal u???

Pffffffffttttttttt........

I challenge you to provide just one medical research document providing proof that smoking marijuana has cured anyone (just one person) of something like cancer, leukemia, etc.

People smoke it because they think it provides some relief or masks the symptoms of whatever it is that they are suffering from. I have a relative who smokes it for her back problems. After 40 plus years of smoking it her back is still screwed up, and smoking a joint will never fix the problem. She needs surgery, not a bong hit.

Its fairly easy to identify the people who smoke by the responses they give. And I'm not judging, its their choice. But some of the arguments brought forward are pretty funny.

For the record, I'm all for legalization if it might help reduce crime. The agencies around the DFW area should follow Dallas PD's policy of issuing citations for minor possession rather than throwing everyone in jail. The savings at the county levels would be tremendous, and reduce overcrowding at the same time.
