Could be a CB that they look at later in the draft.
Broaddus and Dane were talking about him being the type of DB that they could see Richard loving.

As I stated it would be later in the draft so that would free up the first few picks for other areas if need be.

Might be wise to invest in a DB in this draft, I know to the dismay of some and love of others, as after worrying about Dak, Tank, Zeke, Cooper and whoever...they might not want to pay market value for B.Jones when it is his FA period.

Later in the draft?

I’d be shocked if this dude isn’t a top 50 selection. He’s one of the best CBs in the draft.

Man, I' m seriously leaning in on drafting an offensive lineman for much needed depth, since #77 won't pursue corrective surgery to cure his primary aliment, as then other components of the casing-liner start getting over torqued/tweaked to a truely debilitating manner, and EVEN as denuded as that defensive front line "could" be looking like , I'm seeing it as an imperative priority in getting this offensive unit capable of putting a minimum of +8-10 additional ppg up on the game board, or it'll all prove to be an abject lesson in futility again, if ever there was a time to pop off yer' limited number of rescue signal flares in FREE AGENCY acquisitions,,, it's NOW

You are probably right.
I heard them talking about him
Have been looking at positional rankings in many different sites and most have him anywhere from 8th (in CB rankings) on to lower rankings.

However 8th is not really as far down as I made it seem. 8th could easily be taken in the 2nd round.

man...seems like every guy I like keeps getting the bump up to the 2nd Rd.
Im all for CB....up and down the board.
hope this guy slids to the 3rd.
should be on the table at 58.

He’ll be available in the 3rd. I just watched some vids and his cover skills need some improvement and he needs to get stronger. Definitely a Day 2 kid.

Bet you a buck he ain’t!

Would have bet you a million dollars I did not have that Jason Witten would not have lasted to the third round when he was drafted and slotted to be a first rounder.

Not saying this guy will fall...but I have seen better and higher rated players fall spots further and or round more than anyone would say they would fall.

This production with those tools... may be one of those guys where if we want him we'll have to do it at 58.

If Byron is not in the long term plans you could certainly make an argument.

No, but I wouldn’t have been overly surprised bc TE is not a highly valued position...even more so when he was drafted.

CB is a premium draft position that is valued above TE in the draft.

3-4 TEs went before Witten IIRC. It was a valued position that year.

But I could go on.

RB Stephen Jackson would never fall to us in the first... Until he did and we traded out.

Good number said Conner Williams was a first rounder and would not fall to us... He did.

Many said that Shariff Floyd would not fall to us but he did and that resulted in shuffling of who handled draft day organization.

Heck many did not think Mike White would fall to us in the 5TH round.

Sure, players slide every year and I’m sure there will be some surprises this year.

My point is premium positions (QB / WR / CB / pass rusher) are less likely to slide than others. Especially considering this is not a strong CB glass, I’d be a lot more surprised if Layne drops than someone like Irv Smith.

He’s not a Top 75 player IMO. That said, he’s got a high ceiling in that he’s relatively new to the position and you would assume his best football is ahead of him with continued refinement and development.
