I knew was gonna be a meltdown in here but damn lol ravens had to throw money at him with obj in the division. We couldn’t do that w all our guys to sign and how would tank feel earl getting 32 million guaranteed before him ?

Said in a few threads....his deal would come down to guaranteed money and structure. No way in hell I'm frontloading an ET contract with $22M in the first 9 months.

I don't see anything from the Ravens. I don't care about them.

...but that's beside the point. if you're a player, do you hope you're drafted by the ravens? because they just let their defense walk thru FA and trade.

if your point is "i hope i don't get drafted by the cowboys", you're opening up the discussion to other teams. how many teams are you crossing off your list?

also, thoughts on the report of agents talking about where their players want to go? ya know, the one that had dallas #1. what do you know that the agents don't?

There is no window.
What we saw last year is the ceiling.
In most cases there is no window in a ceiling.
That's where we're at.
Ya ,but those solar skylights have been working out pretty good for us,,,er,,,during the daytime, anyway, ya know?o_O

Coming off another injury two years straight. You better believe he was overpaid. But that's the name of the game. You want to play this free agency game you better overpay. I wouldn't pay it but I have no problem paying it especially in a win now mode.

I'd like to win a Superbowl at some point and not be a fringe wildcard team that gets eliminated so quickly.

Being a smart spender has gotten us nowhere and the best safety in football who we tried to trade for and played under our defensive coordinator just signed with Baltimore to waste away his career.

Those are pretty expensive numbers, but if we miss on Thomas, what's the plan B? Just sign more Cody McElroys?

This team is infuriating because they have no plan to get better. Draft well. Sign our own.

Well, that plan has not worked for us. There are very notable examples of teams that are better than us using trades and free agency to improve in smart deals. We just sit it out entirely.

Their level of arrogance rivals their stupidity. It takes a special breed to have that kind of track record and still feel you're always the most informed voice in the room.

Probably the post of the day right here. I want to be mad about this news but this made me laugh.

The Jones boys suck. I need to stop thinking they will cease to suck.

Dallas knows what they’re doing. No one is going to give the best safety in the league more than $10-11M per year. Our front office is being shrewd.

Good for ET. Go somewhere to play where they respect what you can do for the team, not for a bunch of charlatans.

Absolutely love that we are going to trot out Jeff Heath as a starter week one yet the Jones’ will still claim we care about improving the roster

Think bigger. Other than Frederick back at C and Gregory not at DE, they likely will trot out the same starting lineup in September they ended with in 2018.

Think about that when Stephen tells you that the status quo isn't good enough and this team needs to build and not be content with where they finished last year.

How does tank feel about only playing well for half a season? We COULD have done that, but we just don't care about improving the team. It's all about keeping "the family" together.

hilarious to see endless whining about not overpaying for a FA.
the goal should be to never overpay.

It’s more so about doing absolutely nothing than it is about Earl Thomas.

This team is a solid FS and DT from being an elite group.

Yet, we’ve lost our slot receiver and other defensive end and are doing nothing to fill the needs.

The draft cannot fix everything
