These are fun little tidbits that might be a nice distraction from the chaos of free agency on CZ.

The Cowboys were amongst Odell’s top choices for teams to be traded to, one reason was his desire to play with Dak.

Teddy Bridgewater is getting cold feet about resigning with the Saints because he fears Sean Payton will leave to be the Cowboys HC in 2020.

Interesting stuff indeed

Makes sense about Payton and them just saving up for next year and taking the L this season.
Dallas isnt going to tank any season. And if they do go after Payton they will need to give the saints compensation because he's on contract thru 2020.

They won’t spend it next season. Don’t you understand? Their strategy is to sign their guys and cheap FAs. Next offseason will be all about signing Zeke to the most lucrative RB contract ever. They’ll hope 3-4 guys in the draft will become immediate impact players. If not, oh well. They would’ve taken care of their superstar personalities and kept their name in the headlines. That’s the big win for them.

Sean Payton without Drew Brees might be Garrett 2.0.

Remember, he got fired in New York.

Careful...I suggested this in another thread and faced the wrath of many who believe in Jerry's "back against the wall" statement.

Isn't there a clause in his contract that puts that into question though? Something along the lines of, if there's a change in ownership, he can opt out.

Technically... the person operating in the ownership role did change. I'd expect the Saints to dispute it, but Payton may be able to leave if he really wants to.

Payton wants to win. That alone disqualifies him to coach here.

So Garrett has no excuses

Maybe. But it's bad business.

Feels like Ryan. I think the Claiborne/Carr buys were all him getting the best available for his defense, instead of getting the most out of those resources.

If someone is potentially short time, why let him spend resources for his short term interests, instead of your own long term interests?
