Only $32 million guaranteed? That's a 3 year deal for $10.6 million per year disguised as a 4 year deal. That's easily within the $10-11 million Cowboys were reportedly willing to spend.
Bingo, Finally someone gets it.
Forget the total contract value, keep your eyes on the guaranteed money.

Best news I heard all day....this draft is loaded w/ safeties. I'll take one without the diva attitude....and wants to be paid like he's still elite.

Yep. Actually a solid deal for the Ravens and one the cowboys should have matched.

But we like our guys.

32 mill is a pretty elite deal for two years

Folks on this board read length and get all dumb.

He only plays 2 years in that scenario....... cap hits are 7m, 15m and 10m dead money in 2021

3 years costs 43m
4 years costs 55m

A lot of crying about Safety. How did we get X'ed out of the playoffs? Last I checked it was NT. We've been screaming at the top of our lungs for a Fat boy in the middle.

Dak doesnt need resigned this off season - So we draft a QB the following year in the 1st round when we have a 1st round pick again

joking but had to point that out from your post.

Technically you're right that it's possible except for the fact that Jones has already said he will get extended this off season so he would still be on that list of 5 players the Cowboys want to resign. Using your logic and I've already said this a couple of times, Elliott's contract isn't up until after the 2019 season and the Cowboys could exercise the 5th year option for 2020, but he's on that same list of players Jones wants signed this off season.

Yeah...virtually impossible but that's their choice so one more day on the board and I'll be back after the draft. GREAT fans and posters on here but nothing positive to talk about until after the draft. No first rounder doesn't help. If DLaw is going to continue his BS attitude I say get that first back and ship him to Indy or Jville or whomever has the highest 1st rounder. The fact he was invisible the last part of the season and playoffs weighs heavily on my mind. Rebuild the Dline first and the secondary well..............can't wait anymore but time will tell.

I agree 100%. No 1st rounder, the
Time for bed little boy.
.

Hope you didn't spend too much time in front of the computer coming up with that zinger. No points off for trying, I suppose.

Don't want this dude on our team.

Worked with guys with this attitude.

Poison.

Yeah he really dragged the defense and team down all those years they were the best in the league, going to and winning super bowls.

And still making the playoffs regularly.

A real cancer that destroyed that team from the inside, I’ll tell ya.

Notice that the only thing the people taking about him as a "cancer" have is a picture where he's flipping off the head coach?

None of this teammates had a bad word to say about him. This "cancer" talk is simply bitterness from fans who feel slighted that he didn't sign with their team. Like when the hot girl turned them down for a date. "She wasn't that hot anyway..."

The mental gymnastics are almost nauseating to see at times. Anything to defend the FO decisions.

Like we are supposed to be apologetic for wanting our team to make moves to try and win a Super Bowl.

It's fandom.

Some people let that fandom overrule their rational mind. They can't handle even the slightest bit of bad news about their favorite team, so they have to come up with anything else as an excuse.

If he does that to the Seahawks command, he would do it to Dallas also.

You think Jerry and the high command didn't notice that?!?

I know they did. Mgmt is always taking notice.

Only if the Cowboys screwed him over like the Seahawks did. To everyone from that Super Bowl team not named Russell Wilson.

that’s a lot of money for an aging safety coming off a terrible injury at the end of the season.

everybody is acting like we could get the ET from 3 years ago, and cheap just because he wanted to be here.

nope!

He was leading the league in INTs last year when he got hurt. Why would we need the ET from 3yrs ago?

Most of them do not.

And of course the corner position is much more important than safety so there you go!

The safety position is just as important if not more important. Just ask Ed Reed and the Ravens about how important it is. Or ask Jimmy Johnson about how important our safeties were on our 92 and 93 teams.
