We haven't been to an NFCC in almost a quarter century. We're well down the totem pole.
(Sarcasm)If the NFCC is so great then why isn't Danny White in the Hall of Fame?

You fairweather Cowboys fans are something else with your sliding scale of what is great and what isn't. I'm diehard, the Cowboy's accomplishments do not fade in my eyes over time. Many of you were born too late to fully appreciate the Cowboys greatness but for those of you who weren't, SHAME on you for not keeping them sacred in football lore. I'm diehard I remember! Crying about how long it's been is beneath me. I celebrate what the Cowboys have achieved, not concern myself with when they achieved it. Time does not diminish the fact it happened. That will only happen when diehards like me die out and the history books are no longer turned to our pages to read. You fairweathers that do not appreciate the Cowboys for all their greatness are just hurting yourselves and a great legacy because you choose to not recognize it.

Joe, I love ya, but 6 super bowl wins and 9 appearances is more than just catching up to 5 super bowl wins and 8 appearances.
I believe he means even after our 30 year drought they are just now surpassing us and that goes for other teams in that category. If it’s so easy to win and or get to super bowls it’s odd we still are top 3 all time even after doing squat for so long.

It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. The Pats have done a nice job of late to catch up but they have not surpassed the legendary Dallas Cowboy's all-time greatness. Those of you that are prisoners of the moment or just aren't Cowboys fans will of course disagree and that's okay. That's why we are all allowed to have our own opinions. What say you?

Different eras different game.
There Isn’t one Tom Brady Pats team that wouldn’t get blown to smithereens by the 1980s 49ers or early 90s Cowboys. Not close IMO.

The Cowboys achievements back in the day were phenomenal and why their records have stood the test of time .

But the Patriots have finally surpassed most of those records. They are quickly approaching the one record which most thought would never be broken. 20 consecutive winning seasons.

Cowboys history is still one that ranks up there with 12 championship appearances in 17 years one of the most impressive( 1966-1982).

Brady and the Pats just finished appearing in 9 straight championship games. Amazing !!

The only thing the Cowboys have over the Patriots is their brand name and marketing. They are the richest franchise in any sport and a global brand.

But in terms of on field success, how are the Cowboys ahead of the Pats? Pats have us beat in both Super Bowl appearances and wins. We are 5-3 and they are 6-5. They have been to 8 straight conference championship games as well.

Comparing eras in football is dumb. So if Brady's teams now played the 90s Cowboys, which rules are we using? If we are using the 90s rules, you'd then have to assume the Patriots would adapt to those rules and style of play.

I think they have 11 appearances. 6-5.

Wins - 2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016, 2018
Losses - 1985, 1996, 2007, 2011, 2017

They have one more win than us and 3 more appearances. They have surpassed us.

So there’s no chance these are just the symptoms of wearing really thick “fan glasses”?

He’s a blind homer who bashes anyone with criticism who’s entitled to his own opinion but not alternative facts. And not worthy of even responding directly to. Lol

Hell no, I have every Cowboys Super Bowl recorded except the one they lost to the Colts and I watch them every once in a while. I'm convinced some of those teams the Cowboys had are the absolute best that professional football has ever produced. That 1993 team of Jimmy Jones's was amazing and the 1971 Cowboys that beat Miami was the last team to beat that squad until 1973. No sir, I'm being square with you when I say IMO, the Cowboys are the greatest team of all-time.

Tell the LeBron worshipers that believe he's greater than MJ despite MJ has more rings. If 3 LeBron rings can be > 6 MJ rings then my Cowboys 5 rings can be > the Pats.

Magic was the greatest. Period. As a rookie Kareem was injured and Magic was switched to center and they won a championship. Larry Byrd was second. We're talking players, not teams for the GOAT.

As a long time fan of the Cowboys dating back to the mid 60's I take pride in the history of this franchise but I'm more interested in what we do today and this season. Memories are great but sports in general is about today and in that regard it is frustrating not getting back to the SB. As for the Pats Their past is not as rich but they are making their history now and they are creating the memories for their fans now.

Magic wasn't even the greatest Laker. LOL I was a Bad Boys Pistons fan back when MJ was establishing himself, so I certainly was no MJ fan back then but he won me over by the time his career was complete. I eventually became a Spurs fan so you won't ever get me to agree about any Laker being the greatest though I'll not argue much about Kareem being in that discussion. Larry Bird was just a freak of nature. I did enjoy him and Magic going at it though. Good times.

The way the game has changed, I just don't appreciate it as much as I did when I was growing up. The best Pats team would get slaughtered by the best Cowboys team.

Both started in 1960. Cowboys have 11 more total wins.

Cowboys have been in 8 Superbowls, winning 5 (last being 1995 season)

Patriots have been in 11 Superbowls, winning 6 and 1 AFL Championship (last being 2018)

Hmmm, I would say the Patriots have passed the Cowboys. 23 seasons since a Superbowl.

I'm not going to play the what if game. I take nothing away from any championship team. When Dallas was winning SB and people tried to down play it that it would p!ss me off and I will not do that to any other championship teams since I know championships are earned not given. The game has changed but Pats have been the league standard they are the team all others look to. All other team in this day and age of caps and FA have won and fallen back down yet Pats have continued to be a legit contender over the course of time. I respect that, I don't like the Pats but I do respect the Pats and their accomplishments
